8~Drowning Aquarius

Island Beach

You sat under the beach umbrella as you dug your feet into the sand, staring at the calm waves crashing onto the wet sand. You weren't in the mood to swim. You weren't in the mood for anything. Yasmin was right by your side trying to build a sandcastle.

Mason and Suzy were splashing in the ocean. They seemed to be having fun. The happy go lucky faces of the two was...cute. So cute that anyone would think that they were a couple. A very cute couple.

Everytime Mason looked over at you, he would shift his face into a more serious look like he was trying to tell you "Don't worry, I'm not actually having fun." But you knew that he was. He had such a big smile on his face. You never saw him that happy.

"Why don't you go hang out with Mason y/n?" Yasmin said, as she looked at the two of them splashing eachother with salt water.

"I'm too tired to go in the water." That was a lie. You simply just didn't want to go in with the two of them there.

Then, Suzy began to run to you.
Oh boy.

"Hey y/n, come in the water! I wanna play a game."

"What game?" You said as Mason walked passed you to grab a towel.

"It doesn't have a name... but it's like hide and seek and tag. Come on it'll be fun." You really didn't want to go. Not with her. Never with her. Before you could respond with an excuse, Mason spoke up.

"Just go y/n. I thought you liked the water. Scared of sharks?" He mocked.
"Fine. I'll play." You dragged yourself to the shallows. The water was beautifully blue. It amazed you. Suzy grabbed your wrist and pulled you deeper into the ocean. You both continued until the water was at your shoulders.

"Ok y/n here's how we play. One of us has to tag the other. But you can only move when your head is under water. You can be the tagger ok?" She smiled. Not nicely though. Almost, arrogant. You were unsure about it. For some reason, your stomach turned thinking about it.

Come on, you're an Aquarius. Pull yourself together.

"Ok..." You readied yourself to begin the game.
"Great. Count to ten and then you can catch me." She backed away from you. Her eyes attached to yours. You lowered your head into the water slowly. You could only see blue. The mystery of the water was creepy. But, was also fascinating. You were so preoccupied with the water, that you almost forgot to begin to count.

You wondered if you could even hold your breathe for ten seconds.

The ocean was truly a beautiful place to be.

You wondered if sharks come here at this time.

You realised how hungry you were.

Five

Five...what comes after five? Why don't I remember? What the hell?!?

You didn't realise before. You didn't even know. How couldn't you have known. You were under for more than ten seconds. You were losing oxygen in your brain... in your body. You couldn't think without oxygen. But why didn't you have oxygen? Why didn't you take your head out of the water?

Because you were being held down.

Because hands were pushing against your head and grabbing onto your hair.
