The land was peaceful. All element guilds lived with one another in a state of equality and tranquility. It seemed to be this way for quite a long time; decades, centuries, longer than anyone but the elders could remember... The elder always seemed to be on guard, never letting their trust down for even a single colonist. They held back so many secrets, as some bodies were covered in battle scars, while the others were simply just afraid. The elders used their knowledge wisely, only passing it down to those who would do the same.

At the same time, they monitored the whole land, keeping an extra eye out for two young girls by the names of Sorel and Gravity. Those two girls were as close as close gets; they were like sisters, although nobody knew their origins, as they had no known family. The "sisters" had their own home by age 7, as that was the time elementals' souls began to weaken in nature, but strengthen in power. It was a shack near the temple, with a damaged roof that left a gaping hole in the ceiling. The elders asked on several occasions if they could fix it, and every time, Sorel replied with a calm, "I'm sorry, but we're happy with our home the way it is." while Gravity chimed in with "do whatever business you need to! That doesn't involve you telling us how to run our lives! We get enough of that in training!" After every one of Gravity's remarks, the elder before them, typically John, who had the wings of a dragon, withering behind him as he aged, would turn around and leave with a smile.

As the girls aged, they began to ponder more about the life they had ahead of them. They both had different dreams and desires that seperated the two into their own versions of reality, and put them into different mindsets. Sorel had one dream: to join the elders as one of them one day. She trained every day she could with Gravity in order to achieve that dream. Gravity, on the other hand, wondered why her and Sorel had no family. Her quest was to find out what happened. At the same time, she believed the elders were hiding something big right under their noses, as she started to notice a pattern in training. She warned Sorel on many occasions about what was going on, but Sorel, in Gravity's opinion, was blinded by all her dreams to see the truth.

One day, the two girls entered their designated training section in the main temple- the elemental temple, as most called it. They had to train, and were already 8 years trained past the point where they could have been released. It took them longer since they had no specific element, but that was just what Sorel kept using as an excuse to make Gravity keep coming back.
