We eventually arrive at a small town and when I say small I mean there were absolutely no tall buildings in sight and a forest that surrounded the entire west side of the town. There was only one small street (which we drove down) which had shops on either side of the street. People my own age were seen loitering around. I stared at the different people, I wondered if they would be as 'kind' as the people in the orphanage were. We drove straight through the town and the bitchemen road turned to dirt as a small track wound its way through the forest.

Trees surrounded us on both sides. I breathed in the smell of the forest, they always gave off the most peaceful types of scents. Mixed in between all the smells was a mixture of human and werewolf, but mainly werewolf. The path started to get bumpy and Charlotte finally stopped. We got out and she gestured for me to follow her into the trees. Up ahead I could hear shouting and talking, curious, I began to pick up my pace. Charlotte only smirked at my reaction.

"Nervous?" she asked me. I nodded slightly. We cleared the trees and ahead was a beautiful white Queenslander. Which is a house usually found in Australia, it has a verandah that surrounds the enitre outside of the house all the way around. This house in particular had two stories to it. Though not only the house caught my attention but the mass of people out the front on the soft grass. They were playing a game of football. Most people had already stopped to stare at us but two people were still quite into the game as one had tackled the other shouting at the top of his lungs as he wrestled the other boy. Charlotte grabbed my hand and I finally realized it was also I who had stopped to gaze at the group of people as well.

"Hello everyone!" shouted Charlotte chirpily. She dragged me forward and into the crowd all of them staring at me as they parted for the two of us. They were all silent, but I had heard that packs could communicate with their minds. I wonder what type of conversation they were having behind my back. I walked onto the porch and Charlotte led me inside closing the door behind me. Before the door closed I could hear the two boys that had been wrestling had finally asked what was going on. I rolled my eyes, typical boys.

Inside the house it was neatly furnished and very homey. I hadn't really been in an actual home before and I loved the smells that hung in the air. I followed Charlotte into a dining room and we came face to face with a very powerful man. I could feel the power emanating from him and had the urge to bow my head or look away from those steady eyes, but I stood my ground. I stared straight back at him and I saw the slightest hint of a smile appear on his face.

"I'm guessing you are Cassandra?" he asked me. I nodded and he gestured to the seat beside him.

"I'll get some drinks for you two," Charlotte said backing out of the room. I smiled as she left.

"Thank you, for letting me come here," I began.

The man shook his head, his eyes were kind now nothing like the stare I got before. He had blonde hair and a light beard including a neatly trimmed moustache on his face.

"Please, don't thank me. Charlotte was the one who found you, I wish we could have found you sooner." He sniffed the air. "She was right though, you have no sent at all," he sounded surprised. "I think there's only one other person I know who could mask his sent so well. He was from a pack renowned around the world, they had amazing abilities. Their eyesight 100% accurate, agility top of the ranks and their smell was amazing," his eyes lit up with envy as he revelled in the past. I tried to think if I had those qualities, but I couldn't compare them to anyone as I hadn't met another wolf in my life before.

"Well, welcome to our pack, I think you've been informed of our situation?" he asked me.

"Pretend to be human and try to see what is really splitting the humans and wolves apart." He nodded smiling.

"My names Alpha John Raymond, and I think you'll fit right into the Black Arrow pack Cassandra," he said with finality putting his hand out to me. I reached forward and grabbed his hand. I gasped as I felt a small tingle run through my hand and all the way up my arm and to my head. My mind felt clearer and broader than ever before.

"Can you hear me?" Alpha Raymond asked inside my head. I jumped and nodded. I reached forward with my mind and felt a connection with his mind.

"Loud and clear, over," I replied. He laughed, his face lighting up with delight. He was the first person besides Charlotte who actually wanted to talk to me. A small part of me lit up with warmth.

"Will you two stop talking, I'm trying to sleep here," my wolf growled at us. Raymond laughed again.

"You've got a grouchy wolf there," he said to me. I smiled in response.

"I know! She loves to complain." My wolf only growled again and we cracked up laughing again.

"Well, now that you know how to communicate with the mind just be careful around the other wolves of the pack. I've connected you to the whole pack communication just in case something happens within the pack. Just be careful not to give away your position by accidentally talking, but you can listen in now. Try connecting," he suggested. I was giddy with excitement and I moved my mind outwards trying to get a hold of something outside. That was when I felt it, like a big bubble hung in the air above me. I forced myself into the bubble and my mind filled with voices.

"Wow, did you see her? She was friggin hot!" a guy suddenly shouted inside my head.

"She's human though..." someone else whined. I knew instantly they were talking about me.

"Are you sure she's human? Did you see how unfazed she was when she walked in with Charlotte? And why would a human be visiting the Alpha's house?" Well that person was almost spot on.

"Everyone calm down, Charlotte had found her in an orphanage just out of state and she was being bullied pretty badly. We're going to let her stay here for a year until she turns eighteen and can go off on her own. No one is to show her anything other than kindness, so be nice." Alpha Raymond broadcasted. The whole 'chat' became silent as everyone thought about his order.

"She's hum-"

"If you have an opinion about her keep it to yourself," He cut in sharply. The wolves became quiet after that as no one dared to speak while the Alpha was listening. I left the bubble not wanting to listen when they started to talk again.

"Thanks for that," I sincerely said out loud to Raymond. He smiled and nodded to me.

"Now let's show you to your new room. I don't think Charlotte's going to come back any time soon, she usually gets easily distracted." He smiled warmly as he thought about his wife. I laughed at his comment.
