I open the window the early summer morning breeze gently combing through my hair, my dark blonde, lightly curled hair falls around my shoulders hanging on like a scarf. I carefully creep down the stairs and into the kitchen, I peel a banana and throw it into the blender with some milk and a scoop of ice cream. I blend it watching the sun rise on the country hills, flowers all colours of the rainbow lay still asleep on the hills. I pour the milkshake into a glass and go and watch TV. The golden sunlight soon pours through the curtains and shines on my hair. The Happy 12th Birthday banners are still up from last week, and cards still hog the mantel piece. I creep back upstairs and change into a black, lace crop top, acid wash ripped shorts and a grey cardigan, I put on my necklace that says Everlyn (my name) that my mum and dad had given me before they left me...
All my cousins burst through my bedroom door and jump on my bed, flinging my underwear for tomorrow around and having pillow fights.
"GET OUT!" I scream pushing them of the bed and grabbing my clothes of the floor. Auntie Becky comes in and tells them to shoo and asks me to go get some cereal from the corner shop and pop in the news agents and get everyone a magazine on the way.
