I was standing while taking deep breath after such a long serious fight in the hall that showered by so much lamps on. Sweat rolled down from my forehead like crazy, my pony-tailed hair got messy and I can feel my uniform also getting wet by the sweat. Well, it was my first fight after long enough teaching the white-belt kids about basic kick and stuff. I always dreamed to be a big famous Taekwondo player but the reality slapped me hard. I was not capable enough for that and ended up being just a Taekwondo intructor for the past 3 years.
"That was not bad my dear, Rin" said Mr. Hwang, the CEO plus the head instructor of this Taekwondo Academy. He is a man in his fifthy, very kind and an inspiring human being. Also he is my Taekwondo teacher since elementary school. I smiled while trying to regain my energy, "of course, sir! Isn't Rin the best girl you've ever met, sir?" and we were laughing together.
"Here is your salary", Mr. Hwang offered me a brown envelope from his old hand. My lips formed a bright smile. It was my salary for this month. "Thank you, sir!" I said after bowed to him.
He laughed at my reaction and shook his head. "I should be the one who thanked you for teaching the kids here". Again I smiled proudly to him. Well, teaching was not my intention at first because everybody knew I'm not good with kids. But after doing it for sometimes I can feel the fun part of teaching. Especially since I am teaching something that I liked, Taekwondo.
I learned Taekwondo since elementary school and continue being a Taekwondo player in high school. I joined a lot of school competition even the national one, but never get the first place. The highest rank that i got was just second place at the national competition for girls. You heard that? For girls! I want to beat up some guys too, you know.
"Hey, look who just got some moneys today." I glared at Sana. Oh god, please don't say that she managed to find out about my pay day again..
Sana blinked her eyes cutely to me, 'Treat me some cheese cake, can you?' I shook my head before making a serious funny face. "No, i have a lot of things to pay this month". And she whined cutely like a teenage girl.
"Find a boyfriend, Sana". I said while continued with my assignment. She asked me why with a confused look. "So you will not asked some dessert every time I got my salary". And with that I ended up almost got slapped on my back but I avoided it anyway. Did she forgot that I'm a Taekwondo player?
"You need a boyfriend more than me though".
OH. Did she just insulting me?
"You are working like there is no tomorrow, skipping meals, not even thinking about yourself" Sana looked at me, seriously worried.
"I have you", I said trying to smile nicely at her. She rolled her eyes, "But you never listen to me".
I feel like I got high-fived on the face by my own friend but then I realized that everything she said was the truth.
"Oh my god, why is this become such a serious talk haha" I tried my best to act like it was funny. "Okay okay, I will treat you a cheese cake. Don't be like that, Sana hahaha" I tried again. Sana just sighed and back to her book without asking any question anymore. She always bring that how-bad-I-taking-care-of-myself topic. I know I am like that, she doesn't need to make me remember all of that.
I was laying my head on the table when Sana suddenly woke me up with a news about our middle school reunion. "Middle school reunion? Sound so not important", I said trying to back to sleep.
