Chapter 2

Party Time!

We hung out at Trevor’s place for a while, then we headed over to my house after his parents got home. We talked about how awesome our night would be on the way to my house. My house isn’t to far away from Trevor’s. His house is about a fifteen minute walk away from mine.

“So in my bag is video games, energy drinks, tons of snacks, and some Nerf Guns” Trevor explained.

“Awesome!” I said. I was pumped for our first night.

“It’s gonna be an awesome night and it’s only the first one!” Trevor shouted.

“What if Rachel throws a party and we get invited” I said. Rachel had thrown parties before, we had been invited to one before, but neither of us could go.

“You think she would?” Trevor asked me?

“Why not” I said. “She has been hanging around with us more this year.”

Soon we reached my house. I got my house key out of my pocket and stuck it in the lock. I opened the door and we both went in my house. Empty. Someone’s being an only child feels good. We headed straight for my room. Energy filed us as we rushed up the stairs. I opened my bedroom door and we set everything up. We played Modern Warfare till nightfall.

“Who lives across the street form you?” Trevor asked me.

“Huh?” This question caught me by surprise myself, because I actually wasn’t sure who lived across from me. The house across from mine was very old and looked if it had been there forever.

“I think it’s some old man” I replied. “I’m not really sure though.” The question didn’t come into the conversation that much anymore. I know someone lived next to me, but I never saw anyone come out of the house. Many neighbors say an old man lives in that house, which is why I told Trevor that.

We talked about Rachel after that. We even thought of going over to her house and she if she wanted to hang out, but by the time we decided to go, it was after midnight.

That question Trevor asked me still stuck in my head though. It was weird that I knew almost everyone in our neighborhood except the person across the street. I thought that maybe the houses might be for sale, but I’ve never seen a sign in the front lawn promoting a real estate company.

It kept bothering me until I said, “Do you want to see who lives next door?” Trevor was confused.

“I don’t know if that’s a good idea” he said.

“Why not?”

“Because it’s 3:47 in the morning” Trevor replied eyeing the clock.

“Well, maybe we can just peak in the window” I suggested.

“What if the person see’s us and thinks we’re burglars!” Trevor shouted. “We’ll get thrown in jail and when your parents come back the’ll be so mad at you! Don’t worry Mom and Dad, I didn’t trash the house, I just got thrown in jail!” Trevor said mimicking me.

“Ok, Ok,” I said. “We won’t go to the house next door.

Just then a tapping noise came from my window.

“What could that be?” I though out loud. “I live on the second floor.”

“But, there’s that tree by your window” Trevor replied. He knew that because he would sometimes sneak in my house when he was grounded.

“Maybe it’s an animal” I said. We heard another loud noise that startled us both.

“I don’t think it’s an animal!” Trevor screamed. We waited quietly for another sound. We heard another sound like someone was scratching on the windows. I walked slowly towards the window.

“What are you doing?” Trevor screamed in fear.

“I have to know what’s out there” I said confidently. Although, I was actually terrified. I walked closer to the window. All of a sudden out of nowhere, a terrifying creature appeared in the window!
