Although it may seem obvious, as a little reminder, use the senses when you're trying to describe something in detail.
It can bring your story to life.
Although, remember, don't get sidetracked or over-explain things.
Ex: A story about eating apple pie.
Sound - I can hear none of the other customers in the restaurant; my attention focused solely on the delicious pie in front of me.
Sight - My eyes stared at the baked brown golden pie that stood there taunting me.
Touch - I gently touched the pie with my finger, feeling the warmth of its delicious crust.
Taste - My starving mouth watered with a desperate hunger for just one tiny bite.
Smell - I closed my eyes, smelled the air, and truly cherished the wonderful sweet smell only an apple pie can bring.
