You've been walking for miles when you arrive in a small town named "Wolfpine". Just in time, it was starting to get dark out. The name of this place sounds familiar; you're sure you've heard of it before, you just don't know where. Either way, it looks inviting, and you need a place to stay until you get your car fixed, so you go ahead and continue to walk into town. You can already tell that it's a very small place, but you're okay with that, you'll only be there until you find a ride somehow, or fix your car. You look around trying to find a place that seems like a motel or just a place to stay, and you end up seeing a sign that says "small cabin rentals". It seems a bit unusual but you'll go for anything right now, so you decide to give it a try.

As you walk up to the small building with the sign, you notice there's very few people out walking around, and that there seems to be an eerie silence. This is kind of bizarre, but it's no big deal, it's just getting late. You shrug off the feeling of the silence and walk into the building. As you open the door you notice a man that looks to be in his mid to late 40's, standing at the front desk.

"Good evening. How may I help you?" His voice is soft and oddly appeasing.

Caught slightly off guard, you reply "Hello, I was interested in renting and staying in one of your cabins until I found a ride to where I was going. My car broke down quite a few miles back" You observe the interior of the building while you speak to the man. As your eyes wander, you spot a cabin outside of the window, not too far off in the distance Something about it calls out to you, it's drawing you towards it.

"Yes? Which cabin are you interested in?" The man's voice draws you back to the conversation.

"Well, I was wondering how much they-" The man cuts you off.

"Ohh nonono, don't worry about the cost. You seem to be going through some rough times right now so I'll let this one be free. So which cabin would you like?" He doesn't sound quite as curious as before. You take it that he's noticed that a cabin has already caught your eye.

"Well..." You try to decide on whether you trust this or not "I guess I'll take that one." You point to the cabin that's in the window's view.

"Ah, yes. Cabin 11." He smiles. He has a wide smile, but it's just a bit too wide. "That one seems to be a popular picking. I'm surprised it isn't occupied right now." He hands you the key.

"Well it is a very nice looking cabin." You take the keys and say thank you. As you begin to walk out of the door the man says one last thing.

"Have a nice night... Stay safe."

Something about the way he said that disturbs you. It just seems so unordinary, and unnecessary. What does he mean "stay safe?". You just go with he was trying to be nice and you push the feeling into the back of your mind and walk to cabin 11. The sun is almost completely gone by now, just a sliver of orange light left on the horizon. You approach your cabin door, unlock it, and walk in. A comforting feeling of warmth and a nice sweet smell hits your body and welcomes you in. You've had a long day, so the first thing you do is throw yourself on the bed and pass out from exhaustion.

The Next Evening

You've definitely gained some sleep from last night, it was actually one of the best nights of sleep you've had in years. The bed was warm and cozy, no issues with anything, it was great. In fact, it was so great, you slept into the late afternoon. You sit on the edge of the bed trying to gather yourself together. As you do this, you look around the room. The walls are covered in a warm red looking wallpaper, there's a nice burgundy shag carpet, a lamp on the ceiling that gives off a warm light. Everything is so perfect, you think to yourself, "I could stay here longer than I thought.". Just as the thought passes your mind. You notice there's a door in the corner next to the tv.
