-----Michael-----

She invited me over for lunch on Saturday to further discuss this outrageous plan.

A couple days ago

"Hey Mickey!" I always loved when she called me that when we were younger. At first she couldn't say Michael, so my mom said "call him Mikey", she heard Mickey. When we got older and she could start to pronounce my name, she was so used to it, she just kept on calling me Mickey. My mom used to always say we would end up together, so she called her Minnie. "Well, they are practically married anyway! Leave me alone Matt!" He used to always tease her about that. I love that she still remembers it.

"Hey Minnie!" Gosh, the megawatt smile she just provided held so much power and she didn't even know it. Her smile alone had the power to steal my breath away, almost killing me, and brighten my day, giving me life. What I wouldn't do to be able to put that smile on her face everyday and night.

"So I was thinking we could go to lunch today, just to talk, maybe let some people around the office start seeing us together. What do you think?" What do I think? Hell yeah is what I think! I'll go anywhere you ask me to, anytime.

Play it cool. "Sure, sounds fine to me. What time do you take lunch?" 12:30.

"12:30 sound okay to you?"

"Perfect. Alright, see you then." Now smile and wave, and walk away without tripping over your feet. Uh oh. Unsuccessful.

"Ouch!" Next thing I know, I am sprawled out on her office's floor, with an angel standing over me. Oh gosh, her giggles are making my day, even now.

"Mickey, did you forget about that big glass door?"

"I didn't see it."

"You look like you belong in a Windex commercial." That was not funny, but her laughter made all my humiliation worth it.

"Come on big boy," she said trying to help me up.

"Need some ice for your nose?"

"Uh, nah. I'm good, thanks Minnie. See you at 11:30," I said turning to leave.

"You mean 12:30?"

"Uh, yeah, sure."

"I really think you should sit down for a sec. Your nose is already swelling. Maybe we should postpone this lunch."

"Chelle, I'm fi-"

"Come on, I'm taking you to the emergency room."

"Michelle..."

"Michael...."

"You know how I feel about hospitals..."

"Awwww, is the big baby scared? Want me to hold your hand?" My ears perked up at that. Hell yeah I want you to hold my hand, and something else too...My heart. What am I saying, she already does. "I'll hold your hand. Come on." I'm hearing angels sing now. My prayers have been answered! She's falling in love with me!

Then my inner Mike chimed in, the bastard! "Not really. Calm down, she was just joking. You are still planted firmly in the friend zone."

"Shut the hell up Mike!"

"Nope"

GRRRRRRR.

I heard him laugh, "are you growling at me?"

"Asshole." I grumbled.

"I heard that dumbass. I'm in your head, remember."

I heard Michelle calling me. "Mickey! Michael?! Earth to Michael. Michael Jacob Blake! I know you hear me," she stated while placing her hand on her hip and crinkling her cute little nose at me. She is so adorable when she's worked up.
