All I heard was the pitter-patter of rain. Footsteps in the wind. I turned around and nothing was there. I told myself I was being paranoid. There was no way anyone could follow me into this place.

The Shadow-Zone.

A place where the shadows travel at night. A pitch black world parallel to the earth. Only certain people can travel to it. And even fewer survive the trip. I'm one of the few that can see through the darkness.
Okay. Let me start over.
I am Frank. Frank Red-Knight.
I am a Shadower

I know that makes no sense to you right now but I'll explain later. Right now, all you need to know is that whatever you have been told about your shadows is wrong. They are living, sentient beings. Who live on a totally different plain parallel to earth. The Shadow-Zone is where they stay when they're not following you aroung. Times like at night, while you're sleeping and when you're not watching. An alternate dimension of sorts. It's basically the same as your earth it's just that everything here is black. Like pitch black. I dont know how the shadows tell anything apart.
Okay I'm getting off topic again.
Basically, the Shadow-Zone (or The Zone as I like to call it) is smaller than the earth, so travelling here is faster. Jumping from the earth to The Zone is called shadow-hoping. At least thats what my mum says.                                                                                                                                                  Anyway, now that you're educated, we can move on.

For some reason the ground was littered with log shaped objects( because you could never be sure here). As I stepped over the eighth one in a row, it started again. Only now did I realise that the rain had stopped. it had never rained here before, at least not when I was here. Somthing was going on. I looked back, and suddenly a shadow appeared out of nowhere.                                    How could I be so careless. I must have loitered for too long. Only now did I begin to see others pop up and turn towards me. I sprinted down to the darkest place I could see. Before I could make the jump, a shadow grabbed onto my leg. I fell.

Then they came.

Over-whelming me with their weight and moans. More and more piling on until my body became numb.
Finally, oblivion came.

I blacked out
