Everyone was talking about it. He would be seen on the news tonight. The ‘perfect’ boy… apparently. I couldn’t wait to see all the fuss was about...

He would be just like every other boy. No one could be perfect. Especially a boy that had been genetically engineered. It was logically possible. The fact that he had been created had caused more than enough controversy- so how could he be ‘perfect?’ When people were crying out that he was an abomination, a defiance to God… how could be perfect?

“Come onSask! Otherwise you’ll miss it!” my brother hollered from the living room. “I bet you want to ogle this perfect boy. You’re probably imagining him naked right now!”

Rolling my eyes, I shook my head. “Whatever Jake. Just because you’re doing that exact thing doesn’t mean I am. I mean… just admit that you’re gay.”

“Am not!”

“Are too! I mean come on, what other sane reason is there that you try on my underwear?”

“That was one time. I was drunk!”

“Yeah… sure you were. Anyways, I’m coming.”

When I arrived in the room, Jake glared at me, his blue eyes almost icy. Innocently smiling, I walked over to the sofa before collapsing on it.

“Aw Jakey don’t worry. Your new boyfriend will be on soon.”

Ducking the punch that he gave me, I laughed as he stuck his tongue out at me. Despite being five years older, he was still prone to acting like a child.

“You do realise that if he was my boyfriend, you wouldn’t be able to touch him?”

I snorted before reaching for my giant stash of chocolates and sweets. “Ah well, you see as I am not from this planet of Earth, I am practically irresistible to his charms. There is no way that I, the Queen of the great lost city of Atlantis would fall for some boy.”

“You’ve officially lost your mind.”

I merely shook my head before opening a Twix bar. Mere humans that lived on Earth would not understand the mind of a great Queen. The delicious smell of chocolate hit me and I savoured the lovely chocolate biscuit and caramel concoction that was now in my mouth. Best chocolate ever!

“You won’t be saying that when my army rises from underwater, takes control over this world and demands that everyone recognises me as their grand Queen.”

Jake shook his head before he turned the TV on. The familiar sound of the opening of BBC News hit me as I took another bite of the wonderful Twix bar. Whoever made these would definitely be pardoned when I became Queen of Earth- or maybe I would just make everyone learn how to make Twix’s. That would definitely be awesome…

Lost as I was in my thoughts, Jake’s sharp elbow in my stomach caused me to stop thinking about my plans for world dominion and glare at him.

“What?”

“He’s coming on!”

“You know… I’m sure mum and dad would rather you bring your boyfriend home than see him by TV.”

“Oh… go to hell!”

Smirking, I focused my attention on the TV. As bad as it sounded, a part of me really was curious. How could this boy be completely perfect? Everyone had different tastes and no-one preferred the same type of guy… not really.

“And now, we shall go live to the hospital of Seltium where reportedly, the world’s first genetically engineered perfect boy is staying. After being made by a group of scientists reportedly known as The Pendulum-”
