The Wolf Pack Book 1: Spirit Wolf [In Process of Rewriting]

Prologue

I don't know how. I just know this is the right place... Something tells me that, as the daughter of the Alpha I need a mate. Others have been trying but, I'm really not interested. They only want to mate me because they will end up as the alpha someday or because I'm pretty. None of them seem to care about my personality. I really hope that my mate ends up to be that wolf, I saw a year ago, on an small island out on the sea.

A wolf comes into the clearing. He is the same wolf I saw that year. A brown-red colored wolf, mostly red and VERY Handsome. Somehow I can't speak. He comes right up to me.

"Hello" he says with a grin "I'm Sunfire. I... I left my pack because I was tired of all the females there, each wanting to be my mate. Something told me to come here."

I found my voice. "I'm...." I stutter, at lost for words. I start again. "I'm Starlight. I come from a pack close to here. Like you, something told me to come here."

We talk for quite a while until it is time for me to go back. I explain this to him and we go our separate ways. I never found out where he went in those days. We visited each other a lot for a few days. In those days we met on a small island where we first saw each other. Then the day finally comes. It happens.

I wonder if I can ask him. Sunfire looks around awkwardly as if asking himself the same question.

"Will you mate me?" we ask at the same time. I start to laugh and he does to. "Yes" we say again at the same time. We laugh some more. I suddenly begin to get serious. I understood all at once what I needed to do.

I began a howl, a long sweet note. Sunfire howled back, his howl beautiful as well as musical, a deep note. We were ready.
