*Adrien POV*
I watched as Marinette took her shift as one of the waitresses. She was clumsy at times, but she was great with customers. Especially children.
I watched her from the kitchen, waiting for my tables' food to be ready. She lead a family, parents and two kids, to a booth. I watched as the kids were in awe at her blue hair and the long red ribbons that were in her pigtails. The sight made me smile.
She gave the kids extra crayons and their faces lit up again while their parents gave warm smiles. I was snapped out of my trance when a ding went off, letting me know the tables food was ready. I got the tray and started walking off to the designated area, passing Marinette on the way.
As I walked past, she started walking in the opposite direction I was going, knocking into the tray slightly.
My reflexes kicked in as she made a small squeaking noise. I twisted the upper body in the direction of the tray, catching it in time without spilling anything. She looked at me in awe, face going slightly pink. The kids also started staring.
"How did you do that?" She asked, still staring while the kids looked up waiting for my answer. I did a small shrug, still carrying the tray. "I guess you can say I'm as quick as a cat..." I said with confidence. The children giggled at my joke while Marinette gave a small, shy smile.
I winked at her and continued walking, thinking it was cute how she got all flustered. I dropped the dishes off, apologizing for the wait. As I started walking back into the kitchen, I saw Marinette walking out, carrying a few cups.
"Hey I'm sorry about what happened a little bit ago. I didn't mean to run into you" she told me. "It's okay, don't worry. Nothing bad happened. Let me help you with that." I took the two kids cups and smiled at her, following her to the table.
The kids got giddy when they saw the us. I handed them their drinks and stayed as she took their order food wise. As she walked back to the kitchen, I checked my watch. "I'm gonna finish up my table. My shifts almost over. I'll talk with you later tonight" I said patting her on the back.
~time skip to later in the night, with only a couple people left in the restaurant~
I sat down at a table across from Marinette. She was the first to talk. "Thanks a lot" she said. "For what?" I asked. "For everything. For not getting mad that I almost knocked over your tray. For helping me take the drinks to my table. It means a lot, actually" she said the last sentence flustered and blushing.
I chuckled. "You don't have to thank me for that." I responded, looking to her bright blue eyes. She giggled. "I kinda bring bad luck to all I'm around" she joked, looking down at the table. "Not to me!" I exclaimed, purposely being a little over dramatic.
"You bring lots of luck to me. You're like a ladybug." I said, touching her hand across the table. She looked back up into my eyes. "Really?" She asked. I nodded. "Yes." She started blushing again.
By now, every customer left and it was just us and a few other employees. I looked at the clock on the wall. "I should get going" I said, getting up from my seat. She looked up at me, still sitting. "See you tomorrow" she said in her happy tone. That's when I plucked up my courage to do something I thought I'd never do.
I leaned across the table and kissed her warm cheek. "See you later, Bugaboo" I whispered as I got up. The look on her red face made me happy as I did a final wave before walking out, anxious for the next day already.
