- May's Perspective -

It's been about a week since father has left, mother hasn't taken it very well, she's been drinking and going out late. Whenever I ask her for something, she just gives me money.
Let me remind you, I'm only 6, I go out by myself. My two best friends that are in high school both take care of me. They know about my mother's situation and most of the time, they are like my moms, if your wondering then, yes they are together and both girls. My mother doesn't like them cause of that. She says it's some kind of sin but when other people are around her and they hear that, they start to yell at her and hit her.
I don't like to see mommy like that but I've learned to accept it. Mostly because those girls are more like my mom than my actual mother.
My mother isn't the type to hurt others, even if someone hurt her. She doesn't like to hurt others, she taught me that hurting others is very bad, especially around my age.
Around my neighborhood, everybody knows everybody, so nobody would expect somebody of murder when it could be your neighbor.
Just something that doesn't come to the town that much. In the 6 years, I've been alive, I've learned to keep things to myself; family matters, friend matters, and all so well secrets. In this small town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania you HAVE to trust only the people around you, not near you, remember that.

"Willow!" I smiled at the dirty dark green and black haired, green eyed tough high school best friend. Willow had been good friends with my mom, since her mom had left, they both kinda connected.
Hasley, Willows girlfriend is so different, Hasley has light blue and white hair and light blue eyes, plus she always wears thin clothing, not nipple clothing but thin enough. Willow wears sweaters and thick jeans. It's weird but cute that two opposites would attract.
People always think that I'm their daughter but I look nothing like them, I have light, long, tangled 24/7, brown hair, plus really dark brown eyes. I normally wear short sleeve shirts and shorts. Plus I wear really geeky glasses that make me look really cute but also look nothing like Willow and Hasley.
It's weird. Willow doesn't get along with my mother anymore because she loves Hasley, but mother always lets me stay with them when she's drinking or going out, or drunk. When I do try to ask mother for something, she gives me money or tries to get me to ask Willow and Hasley. I don't like it. She says, "Take the money and leave." or "Ask your other mothers for money, they obviously love you." Then tries to apologize afterward.
It doesn't affect me much. I snapped back to reality when I heard Hasley saying my name. "Yeah?" I asked back.
"You got your seat belt on?" I totally forgot that Willow and Hasley picked me up from mothers house. I quickly struggled to get my seat belt on while Hasley looked back in the mirror.
"Yeah!" I smiled when she looked back and we both giggled. That's when I heard Willows phone ringing. No one was answering it. Why? I looked over the seat at the phone and it was an unknown number. Willow just got in the car after talking to my drunk mother, yelling, screaming, etc.
Once Willow answered the phone, it was actually the FBI calling for her to come into the station. You see, Willow looks tough and emotionless but she won't do anything unless you piss her off that is.
"Sorry May, we'll have to go to the dog park another time," Hasley whispers to me as Willow was still on the phone. I just shook it off. "Its okay, can I come to the station with you guys? " I asked once Willow hung up. Hasley gave Willow a worried look, that was when Willow looked at me.
I had done my '6-year-old puppy face' to convince her and Hasley. They gave in seconds later. They said to just stick to them, and don't talk to anybody you don't know.
I'm so excited.
