That One Girl

Day 1 ~ Sorry!

Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep.... Beep..... Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
Dakota jolted up in bed.
"Ok... Just a dream.... Phew. "
She looked at her calendar.
First day of heaven was written on it.
"It's.... The first day of... School..... *yawn*.... WAIT THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL?!?!?!"
She jumped out of bed to see what to wear but realized something.
Crap! I forgot my glasses. No wonder I can't see.
She grabbed her black framed glasses and went back to her closet.
Much better. Wait a sec, my school has uniforms. I'm such a dingus.
She put on her uniform and went to the bathroom.
She put up her wavy auburn hair into a bun. She tied a red ribbon around it.
To little chunks of hair came out on either side of her face and curled.
"Ugh."
Dakota brushed her teeth and went downstairs.
She grabbed her lunch, put it in her bag.
As she ran to the door, she yelled up to her big brother.
"Bye Cory!"
"Bye Kota."
She shut the door and began her walk.
She pulled out her schedule.
Home room
Math
English
Art
Lunch
Science
PE
Dismissal
Easy enough.
She put it away and looked up.
She was there already.
Hmm.
She opened the door.
Everyone stared as she walked in.
She blushed all the way to her locker.
She put away everything and read while waiting for the bell.
Someone picked up her book.
"What's this nerd?"
She looked up to see a boy with brown hair covering one eye and a headset, a rather furry boy and a girl with blue hair holding her book.
"It's a book."
"I know that idiot. Are you new?"
"Why should that be any of your business?"
"Because I'm queen bee here and I know everything. Just because you think your so cool, doesn't mean you can Stand up to us. Besides, your a shy little wreck. And your glasses? Just make you more nerdy. Pathetic. And , is your hair on its period? I think it should be thrown away."
"I-"
They threw Kota in her locker and slammed the door.
She heard faint laughing.
She curled up and cried and cried and cried.
She heard the bell and tried to get out but failed.
She called for help but people just snickered.
She called for help for one last time before giving up hope.
She balled up and wept again.
Suddenly, she heard slow footsteps.
"Hello?" A boys muffled voice came from outside.
"Help.... I'm in locker 295..."
The door swung open to see the boy.
He had orange hair styled up.
He also had a red beanie.
He extended a hand to help you out.
"Hi, I'm Max. You ok?"
"Yeah, I think. I'm Kota."
He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.
"So... Do you wanna sit with me and my friends at lunch?"
"I'd like that."
They were both blushing now.

They met at Kota's locker and walked together to the lunchroom.
A group of boys waved at them to sit down.
"Hey Max who's your new girlfriend ~~~"
"Ooh yeah, who is she?
"Guys, this is Kota. She's not my girlfriend. She's my new friend. Kota, this is the amazing Adam," he gestured toward a guy with sunglasses.
"This is Rossume Ross," a boy with brown curly hair and square glasses gave her a thumbs up. "And the unfortunate Shelby."
A girl with red hair and a white paper crown rolled her eyes at Max.
Max flipped her off.
Kota glanced to her her side and saw a group of blondes glaring and growling at her.
She ignored it.
Kota decided to crack a joke.
"Mad max?"
He looked at her with anger in his eyes.
Everyone laughed except Max.
"One more time."
"Eep!"
Shelby but in.
"Stop it Max you're scaring her."
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it."
The bell rang.
Everyone started to get their things.
"Wait! We need your number!"
"Shorty, she isn't part of the group yet."
"I'm not short I'm fun sized!"
"Wait, group? Are you guys a club or something?"
"No, we're just the coolest kids in school."
She felt like fainting.
"So, what do I do to be into the group?"
"Oh, you just got to stand up to a bully.
Shelby chimed up.
"I think I saw her do that to... Them....."
"Ok. You're in."
"Ok, cool."

On the walk home, she saw Max and blushed.
Do I like him? Duh, of course I do. But he's a pathway and I'm just a rock you step on along the way.
Doesn't stop her from dreaming though!
