It was a beautiful, sunny day and John Cotton was out in the park strolling around all the plants. "Oh what a wonderful day it is," John said. He picked some Daisies, Tulips and Bluebells. John rounded them up and then set off home. His house was one of the terraces in his block. That night before John Cotton went to bed he locked all the doors and windows as he did every night. After that he had a cup of tea and a piece of toast, washed his teeth and went to sleep. Later that night around eleven pm a guy was wandering around John's house. "How can I get in?" he asked himself though he already had found an idea. He looked around and yes there it was the little devil of a stone. It was rigid, it was sharp, it was the right type if stone. The man went up to one of the windows and carved a circle through the glass. He could get through it just about and so he tiptoed down the hall and up the stairs and into every room. He finally found John's room and he took out his knife which was in the man's pocket. First he slit open John's neck so he could wake up and feel the pain. John did wake up and next the man put the knife into his heart and twisted the knife so it would kill John Cotton. Blood spurted out of John's neck and the gigantic cut in his chest. It was so deep and so wide u could see his heart. Blood started pouring out of John's mouth. "Agghhhh!" John Cotton screamed. The murderer took the knife left the room ran down the flight of stairs I to the hall and then into the kitchen. He messed up some pages and then put his knife down while going over to table and sitting down. Then he heard a dog bark jumped up and ran into the hall and out through the window. Though little did he know that he had left the biggest clue behind him.
