"What in the world are you talking about?" Amelia yelled as she pushed me away from her, and pulled me into the other half of the living room that wasn't filled with people dancing.

"Will you be my girlfriend," I repeated.

"Well I got that, but why are you asking me? I don't even like you. Hell,
I don't even know that much about you!" She shouts.

"Let me explain," I start. "It's not that you'd be my real girlfriend. You'd be my fake one." Amelia looked at me with a mix of confusion and anger on her face.

"Continue," she says.

"So as you know we're running mates for homecoming. At lunch the other day, I pulled you into a hug, and the whole cafeteria went crazy. So my logic is that if we were to date, would we get more more votes? I believe we would." I finished.

"So you're telling me you want to fake date?" She asks with astonishment. "Just so we get more votes?"

     "Yes," I answer.

"That is...that is the most stupid thing I've ever heard," Amelia says with a small laugh. "And I've heard plenty of stupid things in my life."

"Excuse me? I thing that this is a wonderful idea. "First off, we'd get more votes, and second we'd only date for a month at the most."

"A month!" She says with wide eyes.

"Well we'd have to. The homecoming game and dance is in 2 more weeks. To make this whole relationship believable, we'd have to date for another week, and then break up. So as I said, 1 month at most."

"This is crazy," she says. "I need to get out of here.

As she begins to walk away, I grab her arm and pull her back to me. "Com'n Amelia! Everyone will think it's real, but you and I will be the only ones who will know it's fake."

"Hold the phone." She starts. "You want me to fake date you, and I can't even tell anyone about it?"

     "Pretty much," I respond.

     "Why?"

"Well we need to make it more believable, so if we have some people knowing, they might spread the word, and we'll be outed as fakes, and lose too many votes."

"So this is all for votes?" Amelia questions.

     "Yes!" I say exasperated.

"If I agree to this, and that is if, I want to set some rules." She looks at me with an eyebrow raised.

     "Okay," I give in.

"First, there shall be no PDA. The only thing I will allow at most is hugs and possibly hand holding. Second, we will not be seen anywhere together outside of school. No dates, noting like that. Only homecoming planning, and that's only allowed if Joey is there. Finally, I want to tell Alexis."

"Hold up. We decided on not telling anyone," I say.

"No. You decided no telling anyone." She simply responds.
