Mei's POV
I sighed and started telling everyone the story. "Well, it started when Reiji left the house to become an idol. I was about say 10 years old at the time. Reiji had been father's favorite and loved it when he played music at home. His music is what would cheer him up. When Reiji left, father had been in bad moods and would come home late from work and he would be drunk. He would become mad that there was no music playing in the house when he came home, due to the late timing. Father would get mad and take it out on me everyday. He would always have some glass bottle or something. It was like that everyday for the next two years. Until one day, he had come home early and wasn't drunk for once. That was the day the I had composed and written my very first song. He had watched me from afar and when I finished he told me that the song was not bad. I was happy that my father had finally noticed me and my music. But I was so stupid thinking that."
"Why would you be stupid thinking that your father loved your music?" Tokiya asked.
"Well, it turned out the next day, he came home from work and told me to leave the house. Father told me that he never wanted to see me ever again and that I was a disgrace to the family, so I left with some clothes and my old guitar. After that I wandered around for about a day or so and I grew tired. I stopped at a park bench and pulled out my guitar and began to sing the song I just recently had written. Then a man came up to me and told me that I had the makings of a star and told me to go to his school Saotome Academy," I finished. "You all know what happens after that." I finished the story and looked up from my hands. Reiji pulled me into a hug.
"I never knew that father did that to you and to think all this time I had been blaming you for everything," he said. "I'm so sorry." I was shocked at first, but then I returned his hug.
"Don't worry about it, you didn't know," I told him.
"But if I hadn't blamed you for mother's death we could've been a lot closer as brother and sister," he replied.
"It's never too late to start," I told him, pulling away from the hug. "We can become closer now."
"But to think we wasted so much time," he said.
"Let's not waste anymore time then," I consoled him.
"Hate to break up this brother-sister moment, but it's getting late and we have work tomorrow," Mikaze-senpai interrupted.
"I guess so," I said chuckling. "Thank you for listening to my boring life story guys."
"It wasn't boring!" Haruka assured. "I'm glad we got to learn more about you!"
"Yeah, I can't believe we never noticed that you always wore long sleeves and shirts," Syo cried.
"Who knew such a pretty butterfly could have such a darkening past?" Ren cooed.
"I still think Mei-chan is adorable!" Natsuki exclaimed.
"It is late and we should be going back to our rooms," Masato reasoned.
"Bye, Mei-chan!" Ittoki called.
"Bye!" I called back. Once Starish, Mikaze-senpai, and Kurosaki-senpai left, Reiji stayed behind.
"From now on we will be as close as possible, OK?" Reiji said.
"Of course, Reiji," I replied.
"Don't call me Reiji, we are real brother and sister now," Reiji pouted.
"What about Rei-nii?" I suggested.
"That is just fine with me. I'll call you Mei-Mei," Rei-nii agreed. "Good night!"
