Day Before Prom
Jack's POV
I take my place on the stage. As soon as the music plays I bring everything I've got into my last performance. With every step I feel like I'm on top of the world. Every move I feel like I'm flying, and before I know it. It's over. There's applause and I'm in my last pose before I'm running off stage.
As soon as I'm off Molly hugs me tight. She tells me how proud she is before she has to do her duet with Kelly. This is how we are going to live. Free and wild, dancing until the sun rises. I can tell she's going places with this. I'm sure she thinks the same.

After the whole recital Molly gives me a hug and we say how well each other did. However as she talks she stops suddenly and makes a small smirk. She makes an eye movement to behind me and I turn around to see Mark. I hug him quickly before going back to Molly.
"Molly this is Mark. Mark, Molly."

"Glad to finally put a face to the guy I've been hearing about for years."
Mark chuckles and I cover my face in embarrassment. Since you know I haven't told Mark about how I was hung up on him for years. He takes my hands away from my face and kisses my forehead.
"Okay, well Jack I'll see you in summer classes. Nice to meet you Mark."
I give her a quick hug before she's on her way. Mark takes my hand and leads me to my Ma and sister. Once I'm there Ma engulfs me in a hug along with how wonderful I did. Kate just gives me a 'good job' and that's all I need. However Ma thinks that pictures are needed for this even though it doesn't really matter. Since I have one next year. That's probably when she's going to cry since I've been doing this since I was eight.
On our way home I ride with Mark while my mom and sister are in their car. The ride is silent, but it's a good kind of silence.

I button up my shirt once I have my pants on. Kate is getting ready in her room leaving me alone. Which I'm very thankful for. However once I get to doing my tie I have to knock on her door for help.
"Go ask mom," she yells from inside.
I groan and make my way down the stairs. She is trying to fix the camera when I gt down to the bottom.
"Ma can you help me," I ask.
When she looks up she sighs with a pleased look. Ma sets the camera down and walks over to me.
"You look very handsome," she tells me while fixing my bow tie.

"Thanks, but I'm not even done yet. I still have my hair and to put on my shoes."

"Let me compliment my son."
I laugh as she finishes and waves for me to go be finished. When I get into the bathroom Kate is already in there curling her hair. I barge in to fix my hair to actually make it look not like a patch of grass. Once I have it looking nice I go downstairs to wait for Kate. She seriously takes ten years. I check all the things off which is my phone and corsage for Mark.
Twenty minutes later and Kate is down the stairs while I sit with her new flavor of the month. She gets upset that I call them that, but it's true. The doorbell rings once again and I quickly answer it. When I open the door I see Mark holding the plastic container with the flower inside. Before we can even get a word out ma sends us outside for pictures.
We go out to the front yard and I put Mark's corsage on him.
"You look amazing," I compliment him.

"And you look absolutely gorgeous," he smiles putting my blue and pink corsage to match his.
Our moms make us get on the porch for pictures. Which is unbearable. Since it's pose after pose. It's not that hard for Mark to have his hands on my waist. However apparently that wasn't enough. Finally we had to tell them that we had to leave. Which is when tonight actually starts.
***
We walk hand in hand following my sibling. However as soon as we find our friends we rush over to them.
"Have they played anything good yet," I ask once we're over by them.

"They played Every Time We Touch, but that's about it," Wade comments.

"You two look adorable," Marzia tells us.

"Thank you. You look great," I tell her.
They start to play Uptown Girl and I get very excited. Especially since it's the best song in my opinion. I drag Mark to the dance floor and make him dance with me. Even though we both know he loves this song too. We shake our hips and jump all over the place. Our friends join us later on in the song and we start to have a great time. Sure Prom can be overrated, but it's a lot of fun so far. I mean it's better when you're love interest is actually with you instead of with an asshole.
The song ends and Mark goes to get a drink leaving me with our friends. So I have an amazing time just jumping around and being my happy self. However after a while I get curious to where Mark is. I exit myself from the dance floor and go look for him. I feel a sense of worry wash over me as I go around the venue looking for him. A bit later I find him at a table drinking some punch. When I catch his eye he gives me a smile.
"What're you doing over here all by yourself," I ask pulling up a chair.

"Just getting ready for a song to play."

"What song," in that instant like it was planned exactly this way I Wouldn't Mind starts to play.
Mark gives me a kind look and stands up. He reaches his hand out to me with a sweet smile.
"May I have this dance," he asks.

"You may," I giggle taking his hand.
We make our way back to the dance floor hand in hand. As soon as we step on the different colored floor his hands place themselves on my hips. My hands snake around to the back of his neck. We both then just rock back and fourth feeling like there is nowhere better than here. This is where I want to be for the longest of time. In his arms feeling like the world has just stopped. That's how I want to live for the rest of my life.
With Mark by my side every step of the way. That's how I want the rest of my life to be. However sometimes I wonder if that will actually happen.

That's the end! It's kind of a weird way to stop however I've wanted to end it this way since I've started the book. BUT there is a book two which is called Till Then.

This was kind of all over the place but it was one of my favorite stories I've written so far. All of the ideas I had were just weird and my plot didn't go as well as I hoped. However the fact that the book almost has 1k reads is mind blowing.

I'd just like to thank the person who made the video at the beginning because it gave me the idea to write this. I would also like to thank you all for reading, voting, and commenting. Knowing that people actually liked this book makes me incredibly happy. So go check out Till Then and happy reading!!
