Lawrence knew when something was weird with his friends. Summer, he knew, had a crush on Freddy. Tomika, no one quite knew who she liked but Kevin said that she liked Zack. Everyone knew that Zack liked Tomika. Lawrence still had a crush on the Duchess of Cambridge and Esme. Poor Summer. Freddy insisted that he only liked her as a friend and nothing less than that. But, sometimes, late at night, when Lawrence was supposed to be asleep, he, Zack and Tomika made a plan. It was foolproof. Zack said that Summer would figure out what was going on. "But won't they ask why we're not with them?" Lawrence had asked. "We'll say that we couldn't get tickets and go see the movie you and Freddy saw the other night, Zack." Tomika said. Zack shrugged. "It was okay. What movie does Summer want to see?" "Um, she mentioned that Spelled looked pretty cool." Tomika admitted. Zack brightened. "So did Freddy. When does it come out?" "You're going to hate me for this," Lawrence said. "When?" Zack asked. "Well," "Lawrence." "When?" Tomika threatened.
