It's the third and the last week at camp here. And nothing has pretty much changed. Riley is still head over heels for Jace. I am still not pregnant. Simon is still my best friend.
Although what I would like to point out is how me and Jace have become really good friends.
I KNOW LET THE CRITICISM COME IN HOW WE CAN'T BE 'GOOD' FRIENDS IN JUST THREE WEEKS.
I mean that's what Simon (who btw is great friends with Will), lectured me about for around 2 hours. That's pretty long.Me and Jace have developed a relationship where we can stand each other, have some casual talks and be not awkward, almost all the time.
Sometimes I think he flirts a lot but then again, its Jace freaking Wayland I mean, he can legitimately do anything and make it seem okay.Even Riley and I are good friends now. In fact I just met her at our tour bus ride a few hours ago.
But that wasn't it, a casual meet and greet.
After knowing me for two weeks and in our school, she felt comfortable talking to me, thus as asked she offered me a cup of coffee and to meet her at a café during sight seeing if that was possible.
Of course I said yes, I have been wanting to avoid those anyway. Despite the fact that I hated them, only Jace would be able to make them fun and he was taking a rain check, that ass had to go out in the rain to buy us hot chocolates because apparently the weather was too good to not have those.Anyway, now here I am, waiting for Riley to arrive any minute now.
Just as I am thinking what I should wear for the whole remaining week here, a bell chimes and I see Riley in casual ripped jeans and a polo shirt with head tied in a bun and a nude lip colour. She is sort of pretty, I mean yeah a little help with how she dresses would be needed but she's a great girl."Hi Riley, you wanted to meet with me?", I say, trying to avoind the awkward 'how've you been' in betweens.
"I am alright Clary, thanks for taking out time for this, I really needed to talk."
Boy, does she sound worried."What is it? Is everything okay R?"
"Look Clary you are good friends with Jace right?"
"Yeah, I am..."
"Well you must also know that I like him a lot?"
"Who doesn't Riley?", I joke.
"He doesn't Clary! And that's why I wanted to meet you today. I like him a lot. And for a very long time now. I have made it so obvious, specially over these two weeks of camp like people have stopped greeting me with a hi, they just go like 'hey are you the girl who has a crush on Jace?' Like either its that he's dumb or he has decided to ignore me for the rest of his life!"
"...wow okay that's a lot of information to absorb in thirty seconds, Riley. But um, what do you want me to do. Why are you telling me this?"
"Well! I want you to talk him into this! Like its so fairly obvious that I like him a lot and since he needs someone to tell him that, why not a good friend of his? Like you!"
"Will's also his friend. Best friend, if I may correct!"
"Yeah but Clary! The guys don't understand this stuff. They think girls get over crushes like they do. Please talk him into this, I really really like him."
"Look, Riley, I can't 'talk' him into anything, its not my right to take. I mean-"
"Look I understand you wouldn't want to do this, you're too good, but hey what good is it gonna be if I still don't get who I love?"
Alright. That was it. I couldn't say no. Despite the fact I wanted to.
"Hey, hey, look Riley, I'll talk to him, alright? But that's it. I am not going to compliment you or tell him how amazing you are, I am going to tell him you like him and we'll see what he has to say alright? I will tell you what I get. Deal?"
"I am more than grateful! Thank you so much for this. I am sorry for being a trouble, I never meant to portray myself any different than I am so I wouldn't ask you to fake compliment me. Other than that, yes I'd love to know what he has to say. Also, I think I have taken up enough time of yours so I am gonna go back to the hotel and catch up on some work. Thanks again, take care!"
"Bye R!"
And with that she left. I didn't want to tell Jace what she just confessed. I don't know why. Probably because I think that he'll like her back, but that shouldn't bother me like I don't feel butterflies in my stomach when I see him or I dont see hearts over my head when I hear him or I don't melt when he speaks and I don't smile the crap out of myself when he says my name, right?
Oh dear god. I don't like him. Please let it be me catching false feelings. Right now I need to go tell him about this girl who's madly in love with him, I can't let my guard down.
Just a few stairs away from my sick room mate/Greek god, Jace, I let out an audible sigh and work with my keys to unlock the door. To find him reading makes my heart flutter because I find it really hot when guys read. Like he already dresses well and he reads too and OH CRAP ITS MY FAVOURATE BOOK THE INFERNAL DEVICES LIKE HOW INTIMIDATING CAN HE GET???
Just somewhere between me drooling over his personality, he intrudes my thoughts by greeting me a hello with his hella cute/hot/breath taking/gorgeous smirk like who curves their lips so perfectly?
"Hi Jace, you look better now, I told you, you didn't have to bring those damn drinks if this was to happen. Did you take your meds?"
"I did! Stop worrying so much, at least we had fun that night. You remind me of my mom right now."
He just didn't! Bro, mom? Seriously? Like okay I see how much he likes me or what he thinks of me!
"Clary, is everything okay? You look...confused. Like something is bothering you. What happened?"
Alright. This is it Clary. Hit him with the bomb, no use hiding it now.
"Jace?"
"Yeah?", he says, with concern scribbled over his face.
"We need to talk."
