Ch. 21- The Truth

Jack's POV
After I left Kate with Kim I went to find the guys. I found Jerry with Maria and Milton and Rudy were with the Paris dojo sensei. I walked over But didn't listen to a word they were saying. After a couple minutes I looked back to where I left Kate and Kim. They weren't there. Instead I saw Kim disappear into an ally carrying Kate. What?! Why would Kim do something like that? If something happened to Kate why isn't Kim running to tell us. I started running to where I saw Kim go. The guys must have seen me.
" Jack!" They called out. But I didn't care. I just couldn't lose Kate. I ran and heard footsteps behind me and thought that the guys were running after me. I turned into the ally but couldn't see anyone. I stopped to look around.
" Jack! What are you doing?!" Rudy asked.
" Kim was talking to Kate then carried her down this ally." I said out of breath.
" Jack that's crazy." Milton said. Just then I got a text
Kim: I know you saw me. So if you want her back come to forest that Kate bought you too. Come alone. No Rudy, Milton, or Jerry.
Jack: I'll be there soon
" I know what I saw." Then I took off making sure the guys weren't following. I know what your thinking why try and save her even though it will mean my own life. I mean that night when me and Kate broke up wasn't because of our fight. It was because Kim told me about Kate and Ky. I was hurt at first. But then I realized I did the same with Kim. So I forgave Kate and asked her to forgive me. I will fight for Kate till the end. I know that. And I know that She feels the same way about me. I ran to the forest. That's where I saw Kim.
" Where's Kate?" I asked.
" She is in a secret location."
" Bring me to her."
" I don't get it Jack. I tell you that Kate kissed Ky and had helped her father yet your still willing to risk your life for her."
" What can I say. I love her." I said. Then she lead me to an old building. There two ninjas grabbed me but I didn't fight. I had to see if Kate was ok. When I was lead into a room I saw Kate tied to a post that was suspended in the air above a water tank. Now I started to fight.
" Kate!!" I yelled. But she didn't look up. I couldn't tell if she was even conscious. I tried yelling her name again but to no avail. More ninjas came and eventually got me tied to a main support beam of the building. Then I saw Kate finally left her head a little.
" Kate!!" I yelled.
Kate's POV
I woke up in my father's dojo. I was on the floor. My father walked in.
" Hey princess." He said.
" Hey father." I said rubbing my head which was killing me.
" How are you?" He asked. I glared at him.
" I fought you changed. That's the only reason I saved you. I thought you were going to be the father I had before mom left."
" You thought wrong. I wasn't dying. I tricked you to get the power that I needed to rule the world."
" You what?!"
" Then I ordered Ky to make you fall for him again and break you away from the warriors. But he fell for you. So he has been taking... care of." He said. I was shocked.
" What did you do to him?!" I yelled. I felt the tears in my face.
" Don't worry he's fine. For now."
" Don't touch him!"
" I won't but now you need to choose. Will you join me in taking over the world or will you die for your so called friends?" He asked. I didn't have to think.
" I would rather save my friends and die then join you and rule the world." I said.
" I expected better from my daughter." That's when I saw him. Ky was in the next room locked away in a cage. I had to help him. I ran for the door but my father pushed me back and away. I hit my head on something and everything went dark.
I woke up tied to a post above a tank of electrified water. Great. Then I was terrified when I heard a voice.
" Kate!!" Jack yelled. What was he doing here and tied to a support beam!! He was suppose to be back at the hotel. Safe from all of this.
" Jack?" I asked.
" Kate! It's me! Are you ok?" He asked worry in his eyes.
" I'm fine but what about you?" He nodded his head.
" Yeah."
" Why are you here?" I asked.
" I came for you." He said.
" Jack there's something I have to tell you." I started but Jack cut me off.
" I know." He said.
" What?" How did he know?
" Kim told me that night we got into that fight. That's why I broke it off. But then I realized I was doing the same with Kim. And I love you to much to lose you. I would do anything for you." He said.
" I love you too. I'm gonna get us out of here." I tried to get out of the restraints.
" Kate be careful!" Just then Kim came in.
" Yeah Kate. Be careful. I wouldn't want you to fall to your death. Oh wait. Yes I would." Then she pushed a button which dropped me closer to the water but stopped before it got to far.
" Kim. Why are you doing this?" He asked. She smirked at him.
" I'm taking back what's mine." She answered. That's something my dad would say. Wait a minute. Green glowing eyes, Sound what my dad says, saying what my dad would say. She is being controlled by my dad!!!
" Jack. Its not Kim. She is being controlled by my dad. She doesn't know what she's doing." I yelled to him. His eyes went wide.
" How does he have that kind of power?" He asked.
" Ummm.... I.. kinda... sorta... maybe... gave him the power..." I said nervously.
" You What?!" He yelled.
" I thought he changed and I thought he was dying. I couldn't let my father die. But then I found out he lied and now wants to take over the world." I finished.
" Is that all?" He asked.
" Ky also may have tried to help then he got caught and is kinda trapped and about to die too." I looked at him.
" What?! Is there anything else?" He returned my look.
" No I think that covers everything." I gave a small smile that dropped quickly when I realized Kim was still in the room.
" So you figured it out. You think your so smart. But what are you doing to do when you have to choice which boy gets to live?" She said.
" What?!" I asked. Then my father came in.
" Kim! Why did you tell her that? You knew I wanted to be the one to tell her. Now go bring in the traitor." Kim left but my father stayed.
" So Kate. For a month you've spent time with both boys now is the time to choose." I couldn't pick who lives or dies. I want them both to live. Ky was my first love. So dangerous and adventurous. But Jack was the only one who gave me a real chance. He was sweet and kind. Both mean a lot to me. I couldn't let them die.
" Father. You of all people should know I can't make decisions while my life is endanger. If you want me to choose you have to let me down." I said hoping my father is as dumb as I remember him to be.
" You know what your right." He went over to the panel.
" Are you serious? She's tricking you!" Kim said as she came in with an unconscious Ky. She tied him beside Jack. My father stepped away from the panel.
" You really tried to trick me?" My father asked.
" It almost worked." I said under my breath. Then Ky started to wake up.
" Ky!" I yelled.
" Kate?" He said unsure.
" Oh look Romeo is awake. Now time to get this show on the way." My father said. I saw Jack whispering something to Ky.
" Father please don't do this. Why can't we be just like we use to with mom?" I was close to crying. I saw Jack and Ky trying to get free and knew I had to distract my father.
" I tried but than you turned on me." He was referring to when I left to be with Jack and the guys.
" You tried to kill me. And your doing it again. Is this seriously how you want to treat your only child?" I asked.
" Well.." He started.
" Dad. Let them go then you and I could be a family. Just us." I said. I could see him starting to give in. "All you have to is release the spell on Kim and untie Jack and Ky." I saw a moment when I thought he would but than his eyes turned cold again.
" No!!" He yelled causing me to finch.
" Please let them go??? Let them go and kill me." I shouted. Jack and Ky both looked up with worry.
" No Kate!" Jack screamed.
" We won't let you do that!" Ky yelled.
" Don't worry. You will die too. I just want you to watch as they die first. Now who is it going to be?" I just closed my eyes thinking for a plan. I looked at Jack and Ky who both were looking at me still trying to get free. I than mouthed 'sorry'. They looked confused. Until Ky understood what I was doing.
" I said I choose me!" I yelled and kicked off my shoe towards the button. Before it got there I saw Ky jump up and start to run. Jack getting up right behind him to stop Kim. I looked at both as the machine dropped me.
" I love you." I yelled before I felt the cold water hit. I didn't fell the pain I thought I would feel with the electricity. I felt peace. Peace knowing that my distraction would work and Jack and Ky would be safe. Peace knowing that my father wouldn't come back from this and would never hurt anyone ever again. And peace knowing I won't be the reason anyone gets hurt again.
Third Person POV
Jack and Ky saw what Kate was doing and ran to help her. As the girl hit the water both boys thought their world's have collapsed. Both boys loved her. She risked her own life so that they could live. Darkness fell to the floor as he saw his daughter die. He thought to himself. Thinking it was all his fault. She wanted to be a family but now he killed her. When he hit the floor it released control on Kim. She was confused on where she was. She had no memory of anything after she was brainwashed by the Darkness. She looked around and saw Jack and Ky by a control panel. Then she saw Kate in a tank of water. Kate looked dead. Kim ran to the tank to save Kate. She reached in and pulled her out. Kate was barely breathing.
" Jack!" Kim called out. Jack turn to see Kim by the love of his life. He wondered if Kim was still under control of the Darkness until Ky assured him that Kim was herself again. He ran and picked up Kate.
" How did you get her out without shocking yourself?" Jack asked Kim. Ky also wanted to know the answer.
" I don't know. I just reached in and pulled her out." The scared girl said.
" I saw the Darkness over by the panel before her shoe hit. He must have tried to save her but only had time to disengage the electricity." Ky explained.
" We have to get her out of here." Jack said. Ky nodded. But Kim stopped them.
" What about him?" Kim pointed to the fallen Darkness.
" I've already checked. He's out. We will call the authorities and he will be taken to a secure location. But we have to get rid of his power." Ky ran to Darkness with a scroll. He said the ancient words and transferred all the power to the scroll. They all ran out. Jack carrying Kate. That was it. The last they saw of Darkness.
