Chapter 1-

As I put my quiz in the hand in box, I looked around one last time. I had finished way before the others. On my way back to my seat, I checked the clock above the blackboard. Three o'clock neared as other students frantically tried to finish in time. The school bell rang, loud and piercing, as seats shuffled, bags zipped, and students hustled out of the room. I stared at the empty seats next to me as I felt a sudden rush of chills run down my spine. No one had sat there in months, not since my best friends had unexpectedly passed.

"Emma," My teacher blatantly stared at me from her desk, "You can't keep dwelling on their passing. You have to make the best of your life now"

"How can I forget when I'm the one that killed them?" I clenched my teeth, fighting back tears.
