"Aspen?!" Lijah shouts.

"What?" I grunted.

"What's up with you?" He turned the knob of my room.

"You better change. Dad's coming." He chuckled, leaving me alone.

"get ready honey!" father shouts.

I wore my baby blue jeans with a pastel pink crop top and a grey loose cardigan. I buttoned my cardigan so my father wouldn't force me to change.

"I'm ready." I spoke, putting on my white Adidas sports shoes and grabbing my backpack; I ran downstairs, and into the car.

Once Lijah puts the car to a halt, I exit; along with Zeke and Lijah.

I wait for them to catch up with their friends; then something comes over my head, John. I knew he was bad, the things he did but somewhere I craved that type of lifestyle; to be free. I slowly slipped away without any eyes upon me. The way back wasn't long ten minutes max. I landed at his house, large and a few steps was my house; completely alone. I gulped and let out a sigh before ringing the doorbell. I unbuttoned my cardigan that showed my crop top. I waited till a tall guy opened the door, shirtless; messy hair and a joint in between his fingers.

"Can I help you?" His voice was harsh and hoarse. He wasn't the guy I was looking for.

"Sorry wrong h-house." I sighed and turned around when a black vehicle parked into their driveway.

"Yo Nate! Swazz? Where the fuck were you guys?" He walked past me.

Nate and John exited the vehicle and began to laugh with Derek; the one I forgot about.

I watched the three of them talk, before I tried to slip past them. six eyes landed on me and I felt a rush of anxiety. "John- I uhm, I wanted to-" I was interrupted by Nate, "She wanted to fuck."

Nate and Derek laughed and John chuckled. I knew this was my cue, I tried to walk away when a raw voice spoke, "Aspen wait. I'm sorry." John said.

I turned around and his face was already turned to me, "Why aren't you in school?" He asked.

"I- I don't know, I walked back I-" I drifted.

"Let me take you for a ride." He said, seating me to the front seat.

"Okay whatever, we're fine." Derek smirked. John rolled his eyes, which made me smile a little.

He sat on the drivers side and we drove away.

The night before I hadn't slept much so I drifted off and when I woke up, we were crossing a bridge and the weather was horrid. Rain splattered down while the wind rushed alongside. I had a blanket draped over me and the air was rough and cold but for some reason, I enjoyed it. I tossed the blanket into the back when John's eyes reverted back to mine. His eyes were brown and big, beautifully innocent. "Aspen," His voice was hoarse and broken. I inhaled the air roughly when I realized the smoke. John's pink plum lips parted and whitish, grey smoke escaped his mouth. His eyes were focused on mine and his hair, messy. His sweatshirt was snuggled upon his chest and upper body. I struggled to speak but managed, "Where are we going John?"

"Probably no where in this weather." He chuckled.

"Where are we? How long have you been driving?" I stormed him with questions.

"Whoa, calm down." He looked back at me and smiled.

I hated to admit it but he looked perfect, sleepy but perfect.

"I'm sorry. I sorta took a wrong turn." John's laugh filled my ears making me completely and utterly focused on him.

"Wrong turn?" I tried to focus on the fact that we were no where in the middle of a huge storm.

"Baby, I promise I'll get you home." His voice, frail.

"Don't call me baby!" I said sternly, shifted myself to face the window. I smiled slightly while letting myself drown in the beautiful destruction of the storm.

"I'm-" I cut john off. "It's fine baby." I didn't dare look back at him, instead I focused on the rain, how hard it came down and let myself close my lids and drift away.

"Fucking shit?!" John's voice startled me, I gasped upward.

"What?!" I groaned.

"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" He managed to state the obvious.

"No shit you did." I spoke silently.

All John did was laugh and let a few moments slip without a conversation, "Since when do you use foul language?" He asked.

"Since I've been hanging with you." I said instantly.

"Which was only today." He responded.

"Exactly, what did you think would happen if someone hung with you for even a second?" I said stubbornly and the conversation ended.

I realized we were at a halt, "Why aren't you driving?"

"I- It stopped working." He said.

"Okay." I responded.

"Okay." John added.
