A Cedric Diggory Story

Back to Hogwarts

Cedric woke up at 6am the following morning. Even though the Hogwarts Express wasn't leaving until 11am and Cedric could sleep until 9am he just couldn't , he was too excited.

After a while of trying to go back to sleep and failing ,Cedric decided to get up and get ready. He finished packing his trunk and carried it downstairs and left it at the front door ready for when they were leaving. He wolfed down his breakfast and then went upstairs  to attempt to drag his parents out of bed.

" Dad !!" , called Cedric from the landing , "it's time to get up".

"It's only 7am Ced", groaned Amos.

"Oh come on Amos", Cedric heard his mother say , "he is just really excited".

After that all Cedric heard was movement in the room , he did not hear any voices , but after a while his mother and father both emerged out of the room , his mother looking very energised , his father looking as if he only went to sleep and is now being forced back out of bed.

It had been nearly another two and a half hours before they started loading the car with all of Cedric's belongings. Cedric , who had been looking as if they would never reach Kings Cross Station jumped into the car immediately , looking as if Christmas had come a month early.

The car ride to Kings Cross Station was not fun at all to Cedric. He kept checking his watch to make sure that they weren't late.

When their car had finally pulled up at Kings Cross , Cedric has dashed out of the car as soon as it stopped and sprinted around the place to find a trolley.

As soon as he found one he sprinted back to the car park with the trolley going a bit haywire at times. He nearly hit the side of their car , he was going I fast.He quickly transferred all his belonging into the trolley in, and started speed -walking into the station with the trolley in front of him.

He soon reached the place in which he would enter the platform. He said goodbye to his mother before entering because only witches or wizards were able to walk through the magical barrier . Since his father was a wizard , he walked through the barrier with Cedric and his mother stayed on the other side. Amos helped Cedric put all his stuff in the Hogwarts Express and then walked back out of the train to say goodbye.

"Have a great year Ced", said Amos to Cedric, "be good" .

Cedric walked on the train and looked eagerly into every compartment ,hoping to find his best friend , Willow Ellsworth.

Willow and Cedric had been best friends since kindergarten and they both had a wizard parent and a muggle parent .

Cedric looked into every compartment , but had no luck in finding his best friend .

He found some of his other friends from Hufflepuff and they were lucky enough to find an empty compartment . They all sat down in the compartment and talked about their summers. Cedric didn't talk much as he was too worried about Willow . They always met each other before the Hogwarts Express started moving and always shared a compartment with each other . It was very unlike Willow to arrive for the Hogwarts Express at the last minute , thought Cedric to himself.

People always thought that Cedric had feelings for Willow as he was always worrying about her , and people thought Willow had feelings for Cedric as she always worried about him , but the truth was the only reason they cared so much for each other was that they had some sort of relationship that was as if they were brother and sister , they had known each other nearly all their lives and were inseparable . They always had breakfast , lunch and dinner together , if they had different classes (which happens very rarely) one of them would wait outside the other persons classroom and wait until the class was over and then they would walk to the next class together and they would always be doing homework together at night. Actually , to be honest , you very rarely would find one of them alone , they usually would be together wether it was a weekend or a weekday.

"Cedric , how was your summer " , asked one of Cedric's friends .

"Fine", mumbled Cedric.

"Did anyone go to the Quidditch World Cup?" , asked a boy with dark brown hair.

No one in the compartment answered but the boy who had asked the question knew that Cedric had went because he had seen him emerging from the tent when the death eaters were around.

"Ced, you alright?", asked a boy with blond hair , also noticing Cedric's quietness.

"What , er... Ya I'm all right , why?", asked Cedric trying to act normal.

"You don't seem yourself Cedric , are you sure your all right ?? Do u feel ill or something??", asked a blonde haired girl named Hannah Abbott sounding quite worried.

" I'm fine , it's just.... Never Mind ", answered Cedric.

The atmosphere in the compartment the rest of the way to Hogwarts wasn't great. Now and then Hannah would try and start a conversation but never got very far. She kept getting answers like 'yes' , 'no' , 'maybe', 'good', 'bad', and stuff like that.

A few hours later they decided to start changing into their robes. Cedric , had changed into his robes and sat straight back down next to the window and started looking out of it. He was so worried about Willow at this point that he wasn't really paying attention to anything else going on in the compartment.

Finally , after a long trip of silence , the train had stopped at Hogsmeade Station and all the students departed the train . Cedric started looking around but there was too many people and he couldn't see a thing. He walked to the carriages, which usually brings them up to Hogwarts. He got a carriage with the same people as he had a compartment with on the train and the silence continued.

As the carriages stopped Cedric was the first to get off. He walked to the entrance and when he got in he went to the Great Hall where the Sorting Ceremony was being held to see what houses the first years would be in (Hufflepuff, Gryffindor , Ravenclaw or Slytherin).

He took a seat kinda at the top of the table and looked around , he saw no one fimilliar and this has made Cedric worry more than ever. The Great Hall started to fill up and get a lot noisier .

While Cedric was waiting for the sorting he heard very fimilliar screams.

"CCEEEDDDDDRRRIIICCCCCCCCC", screamed Willow Ellsworth running to Cedric , pulling him into a long hug.

Cedric only realised what was happening when Willow had let go of him.

"How are you Ced?", asked Willow as she sat down next to him.

"Good, Will I'm so glad your here , did you come on the Hogwarts Express?".

"Yeah, I litterally got into Kings Cross at 5 to 11, and we had to sprint. We got through the barrier when the train started ringing the bell , I just jumped onto it when it started moving. I went looking in a few compartments for you but as I came to the last few, someone called me and started dragging me to their compartment to sit with them", explained Willow.

After that people started noticing that Cedric was more like himself. They waited for the ceremony and after they had a few more Hufflepuffs.
