A/N

Hey Guys,

For those of you who actually read these (I don’t mind if you don’t, no judgment shall be passed), but for those of you who do I would just like to say “Hello!!! I’m Ellie, I am quite new to wattpad and that this is my first Fan-Fiction. Ever.”

So I hope you enjoy, and I also hope that if you don’t enjoy you can give me some feedback, tell me where I went wrong.

Well that’s all from me! Happy Reading.

Oh and don’t despair, at first you may not see how One Direction fit in to all of this, but ... All good things to those who wait :)

They are in the first chapter though, just not much, they become a bigger part of it soon though. Seriously directioners can get keen for chapter two. Oh and just a warning I am not a dead set fan, this is kind of a favor to my friend and so I am kind of mixing fan fic with my own style.

Have fun.

Prologue

PaperBoy P.O.V 8.00am

I can feel the wind whipping through my hair, and I can practically taste freedom as I swerve around the last corner of my route on my bike, I have one more house to deliver paper to this morning, one house that like always I have left until last. I always leave this house until last, always. Because if I leave it until last sometimes Summer will come out and talk to me, Summer goes to my school and is very pretty, and nice. She’s really nice actually. She doesn’t judge me based on the fact that I have to have this job to afford the school fee’s, unlike every other student at our school who gets away with the large sum because of their rich doctor parents or something, actually theirs this one girl who’s dad even invented toaster stroodle. Anyway Summer is one of the only people in that place that actually has kind words for me. Not that we really have the chance to talk much at school, we are not in the same friendship circles, And I being a year ahead of her have almost no classes with her except for a silent study period. It’s only on mornings like this we can really talk. “Jack!” she’ll say excitedly, “Did you bring the paper?”.

“Of course, why else would I be here this early” I reply. She will always laugh, strike up a conversation, and if it’s cold she will even invite me in for hot chocolate, nose pink and sleeves pulled down to cover and warm her fingers. The only thing thats sours mornings like these are the fact that her twin sister Wynter will practically push me out the door whenever she sees me. Wynter is the only person Summer won’t stand up to if she thinks something is wrong, I asked her why once and Summer only replied “I owe my sister”. I had never seen Summer say anything so seriously before so I dropped it.

I approached the big brick house on the end of the street, slowing down as I came closer, I grabbed a newspaper out of my bag, got off my bike and leant it against the faded pickets of the front fence, I imagined Summer laughing, Blonde hair fluttering around her face as she smiled. I opened the familiar front gate with a smile on my face because I was about to see her, see her smiling, know that that special Summer smile was for me. Today was the day after all, I was finally going to ask her out. I had wanted to for a while now, but never could recognize the right moment. I looked up at the door and I took a step towards it, another step, closer to Summer who was inside probably making breakfast or something. Another step. Another step. And then I could no longer see the door as my foot had connected with something rather solid and the cement was rushing up closer and closer to my face.

“oomph” The air flew out of my lungs as I made impact with the ground. I moaned and sat up, looking around for the thing that had tripped me.

And then even though I was a boy. Practically a man.

Even though it was eight a.m and my mother had alway taught me never be so loud as to wake the neighbors. Even though today was supposed to be a happy one.

I screamed. I screamed so loud that the birds on the telegraph pole flew away in shock. I screamed so loud that the waitress working in the cafe across the road looked at me frightened. I screamed so loud that the angels in heaven would be able to hear me.

Because that was where she was. And I wanted more than anything, for her to be able to hear me.

But she never would again.
