High school is meant to be a place of growth and inspiration -- the place where people discover who they are and what they're meant to be. However, this isn't true for everyone. For some, it is the place where you lose the confident and brave person you were as a kid and hide your personality under an uncomfortable mask. Claudia used to enjoy going to school until a close friend of her started to get bullied for being too quirky and not conforming to society's standard of ''normal''. Rather than standing up for her friend, Claudia became scared that she'd also become a victim of bullying and turned into a wallflower. She was convinced that she would stay a hidden gem until graduation day, but a new school and a rag tag group of confused teens may change her mind.

Meet the team:

Claudia is a generally nice person but she has a difficult time making friends for one simple reason -- she can't easily open herself up. Whenever she begins to peel back her skin, she's reminded of the harsh words thrown at her friend for doing the same thing and she immediately pulls the layers back up. In addition to that, she has to come home to parents who never seem to stop arguing. With so much craziness in her life, Claudia's perception of the world darkens and she wonders if people really are worth getting close to.

Elliot is the typical happy-go-lucky kid everyone loves. He tries to embrace everyday with a smile and isn't afraid to step out and say what he wants. Although his opinion may differ from everyone else, people can't help but admire him for being so passionate and not second guessing himself. Elliot tries to stay positive and stuffs anything that bothers him down his system, but he always ends up snapping. Bottling up all his negative emotions leads him to pour out all his anger at once, and an angry Elliot is not a pretty sight to see.

Leon is quiet at first glance -- his attitude is cold and he looks very disinterested in life. However, once you get to know him, he's very playful and outgoing. Leon loves art and his passion is drawing, but due to his desire to please his hardworking parents, he tries to convince himself that higher paying professions are the only ones worth pursuing. He studies daily and tries to be a good role model for his little sister, but it's hard to focus in class when his sketchbook is just itching to be used.

Kaya (kai - ah) is the easiest person to get along with in the whole group. She's very adventurous and friendly; whatever you're down for, she's down for. Although she's spontaneous at school, she struggles with taking care of her three younger siblings at home. Her parents expect her to watch over them as they work during the day, but she's barely able to keep up with her own life. Her life not only consists of her problems but also the issues of three additional kids.

Sarah is the sassy one of the group. At first, she comes off as rude and too upfront about her thoughts, but after becoming close to her, one realizes that she's an amazing listener and has a large heart. She strives to be a good daughter to her parents, but being a good daughter becomes hard when you constantly overhear your mom badmouthing you to her friends. She also struggles with getting the honor role scores that her parents expect, but that won't stop her from trying.

A/N - Hey guys! I'm super excited to write this story and I have so many ideas coming to me. This story might be unrealistic at times and cliche but hey, it's called fiction for a reason. This story is going to be more based on the experiences of these teens as they deal with their problems and learn to confide in one another. I know doing a character summary is kind of odd but there's so much to each character that I felt the need to do a brief description before I started this story. I just want you guys to have a small gist of what everyone is like and some of the struggles they're going through.
