Bloodlust
: Chapter One :
“You know what?” Lacey slurred as she leant against the bar. “I’m never drinking again, I swear. This time I mean it.” Her hand slipped from the glossy surface of the bar and she fell to the floor with a muted thump, her six inch heels in the air.
A passing group of guys wolf whistled over the pounding music as they stared at her black panties, which were know completely on show due to the fact her short black dress had ridden up to her hips.
“Amelia, help?” she moaned from the floor. In my drunken haze, I tried to stifle my giggles as I leant down to help her up, almost pulling myself off of the barstool in the process.
“I’m okay!” she announced once I’d set her back on her feet, and she slowly pulled her dress back down, blushing slightly even though she was drunk enough to not care at all. The group of guys complained as her dress was safely placed back to its original length, and stalked off further into the club to leer at some other unfortunate girl.
“Ladies, here are two shots compliments of the two men at the end of the bar.” The rather handsome barman smiled as he slid two shot glasses along the bar towards Lacey and I.
Looking around, I spotted the two men who were leaning against the edge of the modern-looking bar, smiling and winking at us. Ew. But that didn’t bother me, a drink was a drink. Even better if it was free. Turning to Lacey, I smirked, picking up the shot glass and holding it in the air. She groaned, and picked hers up also, almost spilling half of it down herself. “Ready? 3...2...1” I exclaimed, knocking back the shot of vodka and slamming the empty glass back down on the bar. The sharp taste hit the back of my throat and I swallowed hard, just as Lacey also managed to slam her glass down too.
“Okay I swear, that is the last thing I’m drinking tonight…Ooh wait..” she trailed off as she began to scour the cocktail menu once more.
“Hold on, I’ll be like two seconds, I’m going to the bathroom. I’ll be back faster than…than…wait I don’t know, what’s something fast?” I slurred, leaning my head on my hands trying to think about something that moves fast. “Ugh whatever, I’m just going...” I concluded, as my mind came up with nothing.
I had managed to stumble a few feet away from the bar before suddenly whirling back around to face Lacey. “A cheetah! That’s fast... Isn't it?”
Lacey stared at me, before she excitedly said, “I love cheetahs. They’re so spotty...” I looked at her blankly before turning back around to go to the bathroom.
Pushing my way through the crowds of sweaty people grinding against each other and dancing, I searched for the bathroom. “Heyyy gorgeous…” A male voice said seductively from right beside my ear. Turning around, I came face to face with an extremely tall guy, who looked like he was twice as drunk as me.
“Uh, hey...I’m just gonna go...” I mumbled incoherently, looking in the vague direction of where a group of girls were spilling out of somewhere that looked vaguely like the toilets. Man I needed to pee so bad. See, this is what drinking does to you.
