My past and present

My name is Siren. Although the only people I've known, I've told my name is Serena. I am eight years old and have an eidetic memory. When I was five and and a half my parents loved me, gave me lots of money and credit cards. I know I know, a little much for being only five and a half. But I was smart. And they were rich. Then I don't know why but my parents started hating me. I ended up staying in my room all the time, watching my favorite anime with my little sister Coraline, she was barely even 2 yet. FAIRY TAIL, I loved that Anime, it gave me hope that things would be better again for me and my sis, like with Lucy and her father. But, things only got worse. At age six my parents started beating me. And they completely forgot Coraline existed. My mother would break one of my bones every other day and whip me on days she didn't, while my father would punch me in the gut everytime I came down for a meal. I had gotten so used to it that I don't even feel the pain anymore. The only time I feel is when I'm spitting up blood after him punching me.

Right now I'm coming down for dinner 15 minutes early, seeing as it takes five minutes for my parents to beat me, five minutes for me to clean up the blood and 5 minutes extra. I stopped on the bottom of the stairs, when I heard talking.

"I think we should snap it's neck when it comes down for dinner!"

"I agree, when we break it's neck, we won't have to pay for it anymore!"

I forgot to mention they call me it. That was all I heard of the coversation before quietly rushing up the stairs back to my room. What was I gonna do? Without thinking I grabbed me medium sized suitcase, opening it. I didn't know where I was gonna go but it was any place but here! I grabbed my electronics and their chargers, a blanket, pillow, and anything else I might need. I ripped open my drawer grabbing at all the cash and credit cards I had received as a small 'child'. And I grabbed Carolina and her teddy bear. I rushed to the window quickly and quietly opening it, briefly looking back at all the good memories of my room and the horrible ones outside it. Even if almost every bone in my body was broken it wouldn't stop me. Then, I jumped out the window, being careful with my one and a half year old sister, leaving my 'home' behind beginning my new, better life.
