Blop! A drop of water hit the floor. The unknown child woke up, dazed and feeling perplexed."Hello?" The child called into the abyss of darkness.
The voice echos back. The child got up and started walking, only to realize each step was getting heavier and heavier, until she came to the point where she could walk no longer. She heard scratching on the walls, yet she couldn't see. Soon enough, the sound of scratching came closer and closer, she felt the fear of her mind, struggling to recognise the animal pursuing these sounds in the darkness. This unknown creature crawled upon her, she shuddered and was disgusted at this creature's' intentions. The child was able to make out the shape of a backpack in front of her, she grabbed it and grasped for something. She pressed the switch of the item, light bursted into her eyes and The child was startled, falling backwards with the creature on her back.
"GAAAH!" screamed The child.
Her voice echoing throughout the cave, startling every creature nearby, causing a swarm of the sound of scratches. False confidence rose up into her, she got up with ease, roaming her way through out the cave trying to find a way out with the flashlight, finding dry ground to walk on. Memories were flooding in of the creature, she didn't wanted to know of it, but her curiosity took over. She thought more and more about the creature, what species? What color? What intentions. She came to a point in the cave where a letter was addressed to a girl named 'Zoella'. She flashed the light onto the carved out words on the wall and started to read, she later was thinking while she was reading "I need glasses" or "This cave is just really dark, you can't see a thing, not even with a flashlight". I personally agree, even you, the reader can't see her, but I can, you'll have to imagine Zoella, sadly. The letter on the cave wall said 'Zoe, if you can see this, I left you down here because you were incapable of surviving in the real world, but if you are reading, take a left then go up the hill, you'll be outside.' The child thought about this for a minute, she wondered if 'Zoe' or 'Zoella' could be her, or maybe other humans fell or were placed down here, either way she took the advice 'Erin' gave her, along the path 'Erin' explained to her, take a left then go up the hill. "Seems simple." she thought . She also thought about if 'Erin' was a female or male, or if 'Erin' is her best friend, sister, or even brother, her writing and tone sounded like she was around the child's age, which was 13. Finally the child came upon the hill 'Erin' was talking about. She walked up and inhaled the air deeply, signaling that she was free, even though she realized she was in a sewer and she came through a storm drain, she was ultimately disgusted and thought about how the creature could've been a cockroach or something of that sort. She looked up and realized, 'Erin' was in front of her, she knew it from her heart and she immediately knew that herself, was 'Zoella'.
Hey, author here, surprisingly this is actually my first time writing a book like this, I try and update everyday, and if you want to know more about me then don't be afraid to ask.
