"And by that destiny to perform an act

Whereof what's past is prologue, what to come

In yours and my discharge."

(2.1.220) The Tempest by William Shakespearep

No one realizes the importance of a memory. After all, what is one memory? In a few minutes you will have a completely new one, but oh how precious they are. Once they're gone it is so hard to get them back. No one sees the importance, but what are we without our memories, without our pasts? Everything you were, everything you are, created through the actions of your life, stored forever in your head as foggy images. You remember in your dreams, in your day dreams, in your stories. But what if they were gone? Like a light switch: on, off. Who do you become? And who have you left behind?
