Hey guys! It's my first story so please don't laugh at it! I'm sorry there aren't any pictures for me to display for this story so if you could, please do make some banners for this story!
Enjoy!
I sat on her bed with my younger sister, Joy, brushing her long, silky, auburn hair. As I stroked through Joy's hair, I thought about how living in America would be like. We all were preparing for our migration, especially my parents who were running back and forth, making sure the house was empty. It was only two days away. I was going to miss my house like hell. Suddenly, I remembered the time when I tripped over the stairs when I was 3-years-old.
It was Nighttime already. I knew that in a few hours, there would be literally nothing in the house except for personal items and, of course, us.
"Melody, its 11 'o' clock already. Go to bed!" murmured Joy, half asleep because of my turning on our dim-lit purple lamp. I was writing in my diary, well, actually rather 'pasting' pictures of my house. Because I kept silent, Joy knew I wouldn't turn of the lamp and dozed off.
"Time flies," I said, tilting my head towards the direction of my tiny alarm clock. It was already 4am but it only felt like 5minutes. I shut my book closed and nudged Joy.
"What?!"
"C'mon! Its 4! Its4! Let's go!"
And with that, Joy and I took our hoodies and ran down the stairs, heading for the backyard. As I ran, my vision got even more blurry. Joy stopped in front of the door and waited for me to come and unlock it. As I reached out for the keys in my pocket, pulled my hand towards my eyes and rubbed them. Soon enough, my vision was back to normal.
I dug back in my pocket to find a bundle of keys. I looked through them and finally picked one out. Joy snatched the keys from my fingers and pushed it through the keyhole. I slammed the door open to find a backyard garden, filled with nothing but what seemed like clean, white mist. I could see nothing but a blur shadow of Joy's. We played around the mist and played Hide and Seek.
After an hour of fooling around, the mist was almost cleared. Though there was a little more mist here and there, I could still see cars zooming back and forth. Then I heard something park at our garage.
"And now we're loaded."
"I hope you've checked cause we're not coming back."
"Our house is just like new."
I heard Dad talking to the My street Movers van driver. Seems like its too late already. Wait, was I eavesdropping?! Never mind that. I couldn't do anything anymore. We were officially almost official Americans.
Wow. Was it bad? I'm sorry if it was. I was rushing and exams are just round the corner. Anyways, do look forward to the next chapter! Actually, there might not be anything as this is my first story and I have no idea if what I'm thinking I could do to my story will happen so, don't expect too much please!
