For anyone wondering, Marcel in this book is a lot... Darker than he is in the television series. I make him out to be a villain almost. You are free to ship Caroline with Marcel, although this is a Klaroline book and it will mostly involve Klaroline romance rather than Marcel and Caroline (not sure the ship name for that haha). Same goes for Rebekah and Marcel who may or may not stay a couple throughout the book. Marcel sometimes uses Rebekah since she can love so easily and no girl can stand that for long. So yes, Marcel is very set on getting revenge on Klaus so some scenes may be a bit harsh towards Caroline. If you don't like that you can easily click off this story, please. There's no need for hate. That's it! Enjoy:)

Caroline

I awaken, my eyelids feeling heavy. I glance around the dimly lit apartment, my wrists burning from the vervain rope enclosing my wrists.

"Elena?" I shake my chains like some sort of slave, feeling the tears forming in my eyes. Where was I? It was dark, the curtains open a crack to reveal it was indeed nighttime.

We had to be in some type of city with all the lights outside. Not anywhere close to Mystic Falls...

I glance around the room for any sign of help. It was a regular apartment although the dull colors and lack of decorations let me know it was a guy's.

"Hello? Anybody?!" My voice sounds strained, broken almost. Someone will find me. Elena will wonder where I went. They'll find me.

I breathe in and out steadily, attempting to calm my nerves. A door creaks open, a peak of light shining before it returns to darkness.

"Please don't hurt me..." I plead desperately.

"I'm not going to hurt you, Caroline." The familiar voice rings through my mind. Marcel? If that was even his real name...

"Where am I? Why do you need me?" I shake my chains again, struggling. He shushes me.

"Don't worry. You won't remember any of this soon," I stop, frozen. What does he mean? What's he talking about?! I have to get out of here...

"W-what are you talking about? Please. Let me go. I swear I won't tell anyone just-"

"Rebekah, it's time," he growls. Rebekah?

"Okay, what do you need me to do?" Holy shit.

"R-Rebekah? What are you doing here?" A light is flicked on, showing the two. I hadn't seen her in a couple of months at least.

She ignores my question, facing Marcel impatiently.

"Compel her to not go anywhere when I take her out of these chains," I shake my head vigorously, pleading to Rebekah. Although we were not friends, I hope she gives me some sympathy. How does she even know this Marcel guy?

"Please, Rebekah-" She cuts me off, looking me in the eyes.

"You won't try to escape when Marcel takes these chains off you," she orders me. Suddenly my body is filled with the only thought of not escaping. It takes everything in me to try and not let the compulsion seep in, but it does.

Marcel removes the chains, forcing me to stand up. I feel weak, not having eaten in however long I'd been out.

"I'm going to get her a blood bag. Calm her down, please," He sounds tempered and stressed, walking off into the kitchen.

"Why are you doing this to me? I know we weren't close or anything but we weren't enemies."

"My brother has gone on a rampage. He needs to be stopped. You're his only weakness Caroline. You're the only one he cares for," she tells me. No one has mentioned Klaus for weeks now. I haven't seen him since the woods where we... I shake my head.

"Why did you tie me up then? I thought after you guys moved I wouldn't have to hear from you again. He promised me. Klaus promised me I would be free," I whimper. She looks a bit guilty, sighing.

"I'm sorry. Look just-"

"Drink," Marcel returns, interrupting the blonde. He shoves a blood bag into my hands. I immediately tear the plastic wrapping off, sinking my fangs into the sweet liquid.

"Come here. I need to talk with you," Marcel grabs Rebekah's arm forcefully pulling her into a different room.

Rebekah

"When are we letting her go back Marcel? She's only in college and apparently my brother promised her freedom of our family drama after we left," I inform him.

"You aren't backing out, are you?" He asks me. I look towards the ground. I knew this was wrong, but I loved Marcel too much to disappoint him. No matter what my brother promised Caroline, I have to go side with Marcel.

"Look Rebekah, look at me," he forces my chin up.

"We are this close to getting to Klaus. We can overthrow his power. He'll be weak and mad and will do anything to get her back. I need you, okay?" I nearly fall to my knees at his loving words. He presses a kiss to my forehead, and I smile in return.

"Okay. What's the plan?"
