You probably already knew this because I used a picture of her last chapter but I changed the actress who plays Olivia to Paris Warner- she's the girl from I Once Was a Beehive and it's actually a good movie so check it out on Netflix (:

Chapter 5, Published: 08/19/16

August, 2015

"So they just thought it was you? Even after you said it was Patrick who did it?" Charlie asks me.

"Yup." I confirmed.

"Are they grounding you or anything?"

I shrugged. "They probably would if it worked. If they take away my electronics I can just go to someone's house for it and if they make me stay in the house it's not like they'll be home to keep me from sneaking out."

"Lucky. When some bitch broke into my locker two years ago and took my French textbook, my parents made me get the two hundred bucks to replace it and I had to walk Jeremy to school for a month." Jeremy is her thirteen year old brother. "Like, it wasn't even my fault!"

"Who stole it?"

"I don't know. I never found out." There's a red light so Charlie turns sideways to look at me in the passenger seat. "Are you eating with us today?"

"I was thinking I'd just spend lunch finishing my chemistry project."

"What? No, you can't do that," she objected. "We've gone to school for almost a week and you still haven't met the guy I have been dying for you to meet!"

"Right, the guy whose name you still won't tell me."

"I want it to be a surprise!"

"I doubt I would know him, though. Is he a junior?"

"Yeah. But that's all I'm telling."

"Oh, God. It's not Patrick, is it? Char, I know I told you I made amends with him but that doesn't mean I want to spend lunch or any other time when I don't have to with him."

"Don't worry, it's not him," Charlie assures me. "You will just have to wait and see."

---

I'm in my guidance counsellor's office waiting, sitting in one of the chairs. I'm late for lunch and might not be able to meet Char's mystery boy.

Again.

Finally Ms. Webs comes into her office. She squeaks when she sees me and jumps a little, and some coffee in the mug she's holding flies out and lands on the floor.

"Oh! Olivia, Hi! I forgot you were gonna be in here. Sorry!" Ms. Webs apologises before sitting in her chair and setting her coffee in the one spot on her desk that isn't cluttered with pencils, papers, and pamphlets.

"What did you want to talk about?" I ask, wanting to get straight to the point.

What? I'm a growing girl, I need my spaghetti.

"Right! Right. Of course," she agrees and I want to roll my eyes. She begins talking. Her words are all over the place and confusing me and I zone out for a while.

"-So all you have to really need to do is give this paper- these papers to Mr. O'Sean and then so he signs it and you just give to me and you're all good- great!"

I frown as I catch on to what she says as she looks through the papers on her desk.

"What? Why?"
