Alex's POV:
I splash her with water. Summer was just beginning but the day was coming to a close. "C'monnnnn Liv!! " I say, trying to get her to splash me back.
Olivia's POV:
I laugh as the warm water splashed over me. "Alex!" I squealed and tried to get away.
Alex's POV:
I swim after her, and being the stronger swimmer It was not a challenge. "Not today Livvy!!" I saw using the nickname I had given her when we were kids. I catch up and grab her around the waist, then submerging us both for a few seconds.
Olivia's POV:
We come up laughing. He holds my waist, and pulls me close. I look up into his deep green eyes that look so intently on me. "are you just going to stand there? I asked smirking.
Alex's POV:
I break out of my trance, her dark brown eyes were almost black in the fading sunlight. I had gotten lost in the trance that was Olivia. The Legend, The idol of many, my longtime best friend, and slight crush. "What?! Yeah! No! What?!" I sputter for a second before letting go of her and swimming backwards a few paces. As far as she knew she was like a sister to me. Plus her ex boyfriend may actually kill me if I made a move.
Olivia's POV :
His eyes held a universe for me. Trapping me in the emerald galaxy. He meant more to me than what he probably knew. What was probably smart. My tyrannical ex boyfriend would have my skin if he knew what thoughts drifted through my head at his touch. At the sight of him. Alex. He represented everything good and wonderful in the world. I couldn't loose him.
Alex's POV:
I swim into the depths of the lake. I could hold my breath for over 10 minutes. In the water I felt like nothing could stop me. It rejuvenated me. Not more than Liv though. She was my life, I was in love even though I wouldnt let myself believe it. I knew, deep down. I couldnt live without her, she had always been there. Like a memory from the past. But always there.
Throughout our childhood, through kindergarten and elementary school. In middle school I was always the teased. They would say that we were dating. At that time I didn't know my feelings for Olivia were there. Though now looking back they obviously were. In highschool was when we both got popular.
She got even more breathtakingly beautiful and I... well I joined the swim team. And almost instantly became of the few legends that graced the halls of Southwood High. Now I was a junior and Olivia and I were still best friends. Together since birth. But I wanted more. So much more than to just be friends. I could never let her know though.
Olivia's POV:
We were both popular and had groups of friends that constantly teased us about our "relationship" I could never find the courage to tell him how I really felt. But I felt it all the time. Whenever we were together. Whenever he looked at me. All the small idle touches, shared laughs and close breaths. I stored them all up waiting for the right moment. I loved him. I don't know how he could be content with "Just Friends"
Alex's POV:
I come to my senses and swim back, popping up right under her nose. "Boo!" I say and start to plant a kiss on her nose. But I miss. And it turns into a full fledged kiss on her lips. I didnt ask for this. But it felt like the world was exploding around me, she was kissing back!
I swear I could hear fireworks in the background.
