1. Hey neighbour

Julie

Today was the day that I was moving into my new house. As much as I didn't want to, I had to.
My dad recently had his job transferred to Toronto, Pickering.
Believe or not, we practically move every year. Wherever my dad's job goes, we are forced to go with him.
Honestly, you may think moving around to different places and meeting new people is exciting for a 15 year old girl but no.
It's not, at all.
You are always forced to make friends and memories, then leave them behind to make new ones.
Yeah, not ideal is it?

I placed my earbuds in my ears and put my iPhone on shuffle, trying to distract myself from thinking about a new life.
I gazed out the window looking at the tree's and cars passing by while listening to Ed Sheeran.

And before I knew it we were at our new house.
I got out of the car and grabbed my luggage.
"Can we pick our rooms now?" Judy, my older sister, asked excitedly.

My dad finally finished taking out all of the luggages from the trunk of our car, "As long as you don't take the master bedroom, because your mom and I already called dibs." He said with a chuckle as he gave my sister the house key.

Before I walked in the house, I took a glance at the neighbours houses around me.
I let out a sigh.
"Time for a new life. Again." I thought to myself in disappointment.

I felt a hand on my shoulder.
I turned around to see my mom who was carrying my baby brother Jake, "Coming inside?" My mom asked with a bright smile.
I nodded and gave her a smile back assuring her that I was alright.

Once I was in the house, I walked up the stairs. My feet made a quiet echoing noise every time I walked up each step.

As I walked in the hallway, I had my eyes locked on one specific room at the end of the hallway.
I walked towards it and twisted the knob open.

The room was perfect. It had more than enough space for all of my things and a big window. I left my luggage at the door and glanced out the window.

Outside my window there wasn't much of a view. All I could was the neighbour's room.
The person didn't appear to be home so I took the chance to look at their room.
The room was dimly lit with natural light but you could still see what's inside.
There were guitar posters on a wall and nicely made bed.

My gazing was interrupted with my mom calling, "Julie the moving truck is here with our boxes!"

"I'll be there!" I yelled back.

I ran out of the room and grabbed one box at a time.

After my boxes of things were all in my room I opened each individual box.

I walked around my room that was half finished.
I had all of my main pieces of furniture like my bed and dressers.
But I didn't put my posters and records on my wall yet.

Since I am human, I eventually got tired and so I decided to move on and do something else.

I grabbed my penny board that was still in a box and headed down to kitchen.

"Hey mom?" I called out.

I saw my mom sitting down at the table with my baby brother Jake.
She tried to feed teaspoon full of baby food to Jake but he pushed it away.
"Oh look Jakey! Here comes the train! Choo-choo!"
