*Sydney's POV*
I didn't mean to snap. I truly didn't. Hunter had be aggravating me and after what happened yesterday... I just felt so uncomfortable and I never want that to happen. I cannot put myself in a situation where I can threaten my education or find myself liking someone. I am not saying I like him, but I do not even want to risk accidentally catching feelings for him. Leila was about to come over to get ready with me for the game and party. Leila has caught Hunter and I in a compromising position, and I prayed that she would not bring it up.

She came in with a bag of clothes and makeup. I was not ready for her to try to make me over. I liked my simple look, which was my curly brown hair in a ponytail and leggings everyday. I never wore dresses or my hair down.. And I only wore a slight bit of makeup. "Okay before I make you look like a completely different person, I need to tell you something.." She says, and I pray she isn't talking about Hunter. "Um.. So how would you feel if I had a crush on Jack?" I almost choked on my spit. Now I knew that both of them liked each other, but I couldn't tell them because one of them would end up killing me. She playfully smacked my arm, "I'm serious, Syd!" "I'd say that's pretty awesome, although, being a third wheel could make me a bit uncomfortable. But I'm cool with it." I say. She smiles.

"Okay... Now I have a question for you. Do you like my brother?" Basically, my breath hitches. I prayed to God and he didn't deliver. Maybe that was why I didn't really believe. "N-no. We aren't even really friends, we just have to study together and I know what you saw-" "Oh my god, you do!" She shouts. I put my hand over her mouth. "Sure. Is he attractive? Definitely. Could I see myself liking him? Definitely. But I can't. I assume my outburst spread around the school. I cannot get into a relationship, especially with your brother." I say, not taking a breath. "You can date my brother if you want. I truly don't care." She says, sarcastically. "Shut up, Lei. It isn't just that he is your brother. It's other reasons." I say. She cracks a smile. "Oh yeah. I forgot about your "No-Interfering-With-My-Education" deal to yourself. I consider it stupid, but you do what you got to do." I made myself a deal that I would always make school come first, not boys. "Okay let's forget it, and get ready. I am sure you have got a lot planned." I say, after a moment of getting lost in my thoughts. "Oh do I!"

She pulls me over to her bag. There are two dresses. She hands me a dress that is completely black and short. It's sleeves go down the shoulder of my arm. It is beautiful. "Okay! Go change!" She squeals.

I look into the mirror. I'm surprised by my appearance. My pale skin looks fairly well against the dress. It meets a little above my knees. When I step out of the bathroom, Leila's mouth gapes open. She is truly just as surprised as me. "You look... Fantastic!" She squeals, coming up to hug me. I look at her dress. It is a white dress where the middle is sort of cut-out with white strings across it. (A/N: I'm bad at describing outfits. Literally the pictures are at the beginning of the chapter!) "MAKEUP TIME!" She squeals. "Please calm down. Also, you look beautiful." I say. She smiles at me. We always compliment each other, it's our thing. I have known her for so long, so I don't understand how I didn't know she had a brother.

She applies a smoky eye to each of us and winged eye liner. Then she straightens my hair. If you know me, my hair is never straightened. I have messy, curly hair. So that's unique. Leila curls her hair. We both peek into the mirror and we are both impressed with each other. Time to go to the game.

I never go to the football games. Sports are not really my thing. I would rather be at home, practicing for Drama than be watching a game that means nothing to me. Leila and I take our seats , super close to the fence. Hunter makes eye contact with his sister and then sees me and smiles. Leila immediately looks at me and mutters, "Uh-huh." Jack bumps into me, saying, "Oh my god girls! I'm so sorry that I am late!" He stands in front of us with a gray sweater and blue jeans. Leila begins to eye him. Is she really checking him out right now? I bump my shoulder into and she drops out of her trance. Jack goes to stand next to her.

"The game is about to begin, but one of our stars Tyler has something to say!" Everyone diverts their attention to Tyler on the field. He is the runner-back, so that's how he and Hunter became friends. "Hey everyone! WHO IS GOING TO WIN TONIGHT?" He shouts into the microphone. Everyone yells back, "Ravens!" which is our mascot. Tyler then makes eye contact with me. He shoots me a smile. Leila gives me a confused look. Leila and Tyler used to be best friends before Hunter because his friend. I guess Hunter told him to stay away from his little sister. "Sydney Tanner. This is for you," he points his finger at me, "Winter Formal is in a week and it would be awesome if we could go together." He pauses. Words appear on the score board saying, "Will you go with me, Sydney?" What? He's not serious, right? I pinch myself and Leila smacks my hand away. The mascot grabs a microphone immediately and pulls it over to me. Everybody's eyes are on me. I have a flashback to when I used to have a crush on him. He was the most popular kid in middle school. To think of it, Hunter hadn't even started our school yet. He barely noticed my presence. He made me feel like crap, but I still liked him. I never found out whether or not he liked me back. It's been a couple seconds and everyone is awaiting my response. I decide to swallow my pride and block out the old memories, "I would love to go with you, Tyler." A huge grin appears on his face. Hunter has disappeared from the field. Tyler points back at me and blows me a kiss, and then gets ready for the game, going back into the locker room.

Leila and Jack both looked at me wide-eyed. "What..?" I say, feeling awkward. "Um... Since when did you like Tyler?" Leila says. "Well to be fair, Lei, she liked him many years ago.. But the real question is, when did he start to like you? I recall him constantly ignoring you." Jack answers for me. "I don't know. He has been looking at me every since I started talking to Hunter. I guess he finally noticed me." I reply. Leila is alone in her thoughts now, when she quietly mutters to me, "So why on earth did my brother leave..?" "Why would I know, Lei?" I ask. She shrugs.

All the guys rush back out and the game begins. To say I had no clue what was going on, well, that was an understatement. All I know is that we almost lost, but we ended up winning. After we won, the guys went to go shower and change before coming out to meet their friends. Tyler immediately spots me and picks me up and spins me. He began to lean in and I almost pulled away, but he only kissed me on the cheek. "I remember what Hunter told me about you being delicate." He whispers super close to my ear. My stomach flipped.

Then I remembered my pact to myself. Why did I freaking accept? Who am I anymore? Maybe I am overreacting. Maybe I just made that pact to myself because no one had asked me out unless it was a joke.... or so I thought.

"So I'll meet you there?" Tyler said, breaking me out of my thoughts. I simply nod. He hugs me. I am not one for such close touch with people I don't know that well. That's why I only hug Leila or Jack. Leila yanks me to her car, Jack following closely behind. "Do you still like, Tyler..? Tell me!" She asks. "I don't know. I know I felt something for him. Isn't that enough?" I reply, opening her car door. Off to the party.

A/N: I said that was going to be the last chapter in her perspective because I don't like writing as her, but I need to write as her, so I can move the plot along. Next chapter will be the party in Sydney's perspective. Pictures above are the outfits of the besties! Thanks for reading :)
