Her soft brown hair waving in the slight breeze. Her dazzling emerald-like eyes staring at the sun sinking into the horizon. The way she made a simple white tank top and jean shorts look stunning. Her feet delicately crossed at the ankles, looking as if she was completely enveloped in her own thoughts. She looked almost like a goddess the way the golden light bounced against her skin. And I took this all in at a few moments glance of her.
I turned my own gaze towards the ocean sunset, my fingers digging into sand, hoping I could get just a tad more in touch with the earth and all things beautiful around me. She was one of them, my girlfriend, she looked completely stunning without even trying.
"Dakota..?" She asked the question in a soft whisper.
"Yeah Amber darling? Something wrong..?" I responded back at her, my voice sounding a bit lost in my own thoughts.
"Do-do you love me.." Her voice sounded a bit shaky. I turned to look at her, wrapping my arm around her waist. "Always gorgeous.." I leaned into her and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. We stayed there like that until the sun finally set on us.
"I wish we could have more days like this" she sighed a bit, standing up and grabbing her school bag. "But you can't get a break when you're always defending yourself from so called myths." She laughed a little at that, as if she amused herself by saying it. She walked off, leaving me by myself on the sand. When I turned to leave I found myself face to face with what looked like a jet black mastiff on steroids. The overly large dog growled at me, showing off his huge canines. "N-nice doggy.." I said trying to ease backwards. Then it rushed directly for my face.
