A New Beginning

Prologue

As the smoke cleared, Tom Riddles body hit the floor with a thud that echoed around the great hall. Everyone let out a collective sigh of relief as the man who had killed so many and damaged so many more finally died. It was at this moment that Harry realized that it was finally over, no more hiding, no more senseless death and he could finally live a semi normal life. As he took a look around at all of those left standing he smiled at this for the first time in a long time as he saw Ginny running towards him. They embraced each other in a hug that shut the entire world out, for those precious few seconds it was just them holding onto the one the they could never live without. "Hello," Harry whispered softly to Ginny, "I missed you". " I thought you were dead Harry. I really did and when I saw you lifeless in Hagrids arms I gave up. I didn't want to live this life without you" she whispered back in tears, "I couldn't have lived this life without you". Harry was awestruck for a moment before kissing the top of her head, he had no idea what to do or say. Luckily for him though Mr and Mrs Weasley decided come up to them at that moment while Mrs Weasley fussed over Harry and Ginny, " Harry! I'm so glad your safe I couldn't handle another child being taken away so soon". Harry stood their silently holding hands with Ginny and just being glad that she still had her family. Eventually Harry stood alone as the Weaslys had gone to find Ron and Hermione, but, Harry stood there keeping his silent vigil over those who had died and seeing the faces of everyone who had sacrificed everything for him and for the world. The final battle had been won but it was a costly battle, but, it was over for good. Now it is time to rebuild...
