My name is Tatsumi Ryuu and it's my first day at Yomi North Middle School. I've lived in Yomiyama for a few years and started to get suspicious about the strange deaths occurring in this city. Little did I know I was about to find out the secret behind it all.

I started walking to school with a smile on my face and my friends, Kazuki -who goes by Kaz- and Shu, by my side. The gentle breeze rustled the leaves of nearby trees, lifting the hair from my forehead; the one thing that shielded my eyes from the sun; which was bathing the morning sky in its resplendent glow.
Kazuki hopped around anxiously; eagerly anticipating the first day back at school. He wore a button down shirt with tan slacks, obviously ignoring the dress code; his school uniform probably sat in the furthest corner of his closet, as if he hoped to never wear it. His dark brown hair -with small traces of blonde scattered throughout- flopped over his face, covering his pale, green eyes; the eyes that almost seemed to gaze into the deepest depths of your thoughts. As well as a smile that lights up a room, or rather the eyes of the people he's blinded whenever light hits his perfectly white teeth just right.
"Hey Tatsumi, I heard you got picked for class-3," Kazuki said, adding casual emphasis.
"Yeah, I guess I'll be stuck with having you in my class again, ay Kaz?" I said sarcastically.
"You're never getting rid of me!" he replied with a devilish grin.
I slowly let out a sigh, "I guess it can't be helped then..." I said, hoping to slightly annoy Kaz.
"You two are lucky to be in the same class with each other again," Shu said, cutting in before Kazuki could respond, "I'm stuck in class-2 without any friends."
Kaz and I felt sorry for Shu, but mostly because he's an impressionable, young kid who needs rule breakers like us in his life; and in his class. I guess we'll just have to make up for that after school then.
I mouthed a silent thank you to Shu for saving me from a 'who can annoy each other the most' battle with Kaz. Shu replied with a subtle nod, and a wink; perfectly displaying his beautiful blue eyes that can melt an unsuspecting girl's heart in one glance. He ran his pale, slender fingers through his bluish-light gray hair; looking every bit like the polished young man he was, following every rule to the letter no matter what; the exact opposite of Kaz and me.
Kaz and I share a look with each other and smirk. "Good luck in class-2, Shu." We said in unison, as we walked to our class sticking our tongues out at Shu.
As soon as we entered the classroom, I noticed that something was strange. Not just strange...but wrong; like there was a mistake in the very fabric of the universe. Kaz seemed as carefree as ever. Yet, I still had a gut feeling that something was off. I didn't know what exactly, but whatever it was, was very off putting.
Immediately after the teacher, Mr. Hiro walked in, he noticed Kaz was not wearing a uniform. He pointed at Kazuki and said,"You, what is your name?"
"My name is Kazuki," he replied with a grin that practically said 'go on, try me'.
"Where is your uniform, Kazuki?!" Mr. Hiro asked angrily, nearly bursting the ear drums of the students in the front of the class.
"I'll bring it tomorrow, I swear!" Kazuki replied terrified. We sat down at our desks and class started.
Suddenly, in the middle of class I had another bizarre feeling. One I could not quite explain. My head started pounding and my vision became blurry. Mr. Hiro's words became muffled and distant, and I felt as though this darkness would overtake my mind. Seconds turned to minutes and minutes became the rest of class. The bell rang and class ended, snapping me out of my dreary haze.

"How was your first day of class, Shu?" I asked, "Did you miss us?"
"No!" he replied a little too quickly. "Ok...yeah I did." he muttered under his breath.
"You really are lonely without us aren't you, Shu?" I asked, laughing.
Shu shot me a deadly glare. "Anyways," He said, composing himself, "did you know that your class is supposedly cursed?"
"Seriously?!" Kaz and I yelled in unison. I immediately thought about the feeling I had earlier and began to feel a bit uncomfortable. Actually, a bit uncomfortable is an understatement.
"I need to be alone for a while," I said very quietly to my friends. I think they might asked me what was wrong but I couldn't really hear them. The feeling slowly left my body as if I were experiencing something close to death. My body became numb, my eyelids grew heavy and I felt my body go limp; causing it to crash down on the ground. I blacked out shortly after.

When I woke up, I was in the hospital; three students from my school where standing at the foot of my hospital bed. I'm sure I've seen them around, but I cant recall their names; if I ever knew them.
"My name is Shiro, I am a class officer at Yomi North," Shiro said introducing himself to me. "This is Ayato and Yui," he continued,"Yui is head of countermeasures and Ayato is a class officer like me."
I looked at Shiro, who had his hand reached out towards me. I then slowly reached out my hand and grabbed his. "Nice to meet you all, I'm Tatsumi Ryuu," I said with a smile on my face. "
"Nice to meet you, Tatsumi," they all said to me.
"Eh...Tatsumi?" Ayato started.
"What?" I asked. The other students all shook their head at him.
"Nevermind," he replied hesitantly. The three kids turned toward the door and bid Tatsumi farewell.
After they left, I started to think about why he would try to tell me something and end up not telling me. What if there really is a curse on class-3? If there is, shouldn't I be told about it?
