Chapter 35
The Allies

It has been a week ago ever since mom has been killed. There were news about the incident. There was a funeral held for her. Dave and I have just seen that on television. Speaking of Dave, he hasn't said a single word since we came here. He has been looking outside, staring into the distance as we try to talk to him. We can't get a word out of him. This is really hard for him, considering he has been living with mom for all of his life, ever since he was born.

We're back in the pack land, where the packs have been united ever since the attack of the Rogues to our Pack before. I knock on the door, waiting for him to tell me to come in but I know that I'm just waiting for nothing instead. So I decide to get in without permission and slowly open the door, finding him staring outside again. Dave has his knees on his chest and his chin is resting on his knees, his eyes dull and swarming with sadness. Cloud has ordered everyone not to shift while Dave is here as he still doesn't know our race.

"Dave, you need to at least eat," I say with a hopeless tone. Dave quits looking outside and stares at me with his dull eyes. He just stares at me like I'm a boring statue that needs to be thrown away as I really don't attract people. I'm no art. He then focuses his eyes down on his feet, lips pursing tight as he hugs himself tightly. My heart clenches at the sight of him. It's like the hope in his eyes just died down and his world crumbled when mom died. I know it's really depressing and all, but Dave needs to hold on and needs to have faith. I sigh as I lose another hope. I was hoping, when I entered the room, that he would actually talk to me but I thought wrong. Shaking my head, I decide to leave him alone in his room.

When I shut the door, I turn on my heels and see Perry leaning his back on the wall, his arms crossed across his chest as he looks at me. I slowly shake my head at him and he sighs, his face going down as he pinches the bridge of his nose. This hurts Perry. Dave, unknowingly, is hurting Perry. Without saying much, Perry takes a deep breath and brushes past me to enter inside Dave's room. I hope everything works out for them.

There's a meeting being held by the Alphas in the Great Room. I want to know what they are discussing about. I know the upcoming war is part of their discussions, but I want to know the plans. Marcus has said before that I was the only one who could find my wolf since I was the one who broke the Forbidden Law. Does their plan include me? I head downstairs to find the old faces of my pack before, and when they see me, they immediately bow as a sign of respect, which makes me squirm, considering I was the laughing stock before. They never did give me respect until now. So it's pretty all new to me. I don't even know why they changed their mind to give me respect when I have done nothing good for them. Maybe it's because I could help them defeat the demon wolf? Maybe it's because I could find my wolf Furion and help to save the worlds. I get out of the house and I'm greeted with the surge of the cool wind. I scan the area and see the kids playing outside, happiness plastered all over their face. Their parents are looking out for them as they play around. I can't let this world crumble, knowing that all of the families will suffer and die. We have a long future ahead of us, and we can't let the darkness take over our world, and the other worlds. We will do anything in our power to stop them and to protect our kind and race. I walk towards the big oak tree and sit down on the newly trimmed grass, the sun is flaring bright across the field as the sky turns bluer and much calmer. Silence greets me and I shut my eyes, relaxing as I feel the surge of the air. As soon as I close my eyes, a pair of strong arms wrap around me, followed by a chin resting on my shoulder.

"How's your day so far?" Cloud says in a whisper. I look at him over my shoulder and see that he has a small smile playing on his lips. I smile sadly and sigh. The smile on Cloud's face fades as he knows that Dave is still not speaking. "He will be okay eventually. He's not going to be like that for forever. Dave's better than that. And I don't think Perry will let his mate go into a different path, if you know what I mean."

"Yeah," I rely after a few seconds, looking at the kids who keep playing. "Dave is just... in a lot of shit right now. I mean, he's just a human. All he's life, he has been a human. I am a human, but I was different before. You know what I mean? I don't know what would I do if I lose Dave."

"We will not let that happen," Cloud says as he kisses my temple, his lips staying there for a couple of seconds until he pulls away. "And surely, Perry will never ever let that happen. He's your brother's mate for the Good Goddess' sake. I bet Perry has prayed more than ever before."

I chuckle at that. At least I get to have fun even in a situation like this. Our lives have been fucked up because of what's going on. We stay there for a while, just watching the scenery as our hearts rest. I can feel the beat of Cloud's heart against my back as his chest is resting on it. He runs his nose across my jawline and a shiver runs down my spin, making me freeze and letting me out a moan. I purse my lips tightly to prevent myself from making more unnecessary noises. Then I feel the tip of his tongue teasing my lobe and that's when I moan out loud, tipping my head back in pleasure as Cloud continues to tease me with his tongue. His arms tighten around me and I can feel myself... growing hard as Cloud continues to do his ritual on me. This is really happening. Like really. We're doing naughty things in public, where the kids can see us! Despite that thought, I can't seem to push Cloud away from me as he seems like a drug to me. His palms travel across my body, the heat inside is turning into a spark and it's only a matter of time before it sparks a fire, until his palm stops on my private area, which makes me hiss in pleasure. He squeezes it a couple of times as he plants kisses all over my neck, biting and tugging.

"It's not really a good place to do that here," a voice says and I jump away from Cloud whereas Cloud snarls at the intruder. My eyes widen and heat rushes into my cheeks, feeling myself with shame as I see Troy arching a brow at us. "Really, there's a place called bedroom." Cloud huffs and rolls his eyes at Troy. Troy chooses to ignore him and just gives as a shrug, like that would make me have less any shame. "Each Queen has sent their world's one of the best fighters. They are here with me. Sorry for not informing you guys, especially you Great Alpha as we do not have much time."

"It's okay," though it sounds really okay, for me, it's not. Troy just intruded us and put me in shame. It is not okay! I scowl at him and when I see his smirk, there's a sudden urge to flip him off but that would be rude. "Where are they?"

"They are over there," Troy points out at the garden section where a couple of kids are looking at them. I can see the wings of the pixie as she smiles at the kids. Both Cloud and I stand up and brush the dust off ourselves. Troy looks at us, studying us, and then another burst of shame hits me and my cheeks redden again. Apparently, Troy notices this and he laughs hard. He kind of has an asshole side. That, or he really is an asshole.

Cloud takes my hand and gestures for Troy to follow us. He begins to walk and basically drag me as we head into the direction of the visitors. Cloud looks at me over his shoulder and gives me a happy smile, silently telling me that everything will be okay and that we'll get through this. I smile back at him, showing him how grateful I am to have him.

"Let's get this over with," Cloud says as we approach the allies.
