Chapter 52: Shuuei Gets What he Wanted

''Where are Kouyuu-sama and Sera-chan?'' Shuurei asked when she did not see them when they arrived at resort and only Shuuei and Shusui met them.

''I think they are under the gazebo at the back of the inn,'' Shuuei assumed since he saw the two head there while they wait for the others. When they went to see the two, ''I think they got bored of waiting. Kouyuu has learned to be a man,'' Shuuei said as he turned his back after looking at the gazebo.

''Oh my,'' Shusui said and covered her mouth. She also turned her back. The others looked too and saw Sera on Kouyuu's lap and they are kissing each other. Sera's hands are wrapped around Kouyuu's neck while Kouyuu wrapped her in a hug. But they did not fail to notice that Kouyuu's hand touching something else.

''I think we should not disturb,'' Shuurei said with a blush and walked back inside the inn. The others followed quickly before the two sees them.

Shuuei was filled with envy. He wished he could be like that with Shusui too. So far he is the only one who is left behind. He was the only one who was only able to have anything else but a kiss.

When they are all to go to the baths, Seiran glared at Jyuusan and said, ''don't try teaching them anything funny in the bath again.'' All the men agreed they do not want to suffer torture like last time.

''Right. Please don't do it in the bath,'' Ryuuki, Shuuei, and Kouyuu said in unison. The ladies laughed at them but agreed. They enjoyed the day with everyone. When the night came, Shuuei saw Shusui turn pale when she was about to enter one of the pools which is not labeled if it is either for men or women.

''What's wrong?'' Shuuei asked and is about to open the door that Shusui had just close but she held his hand.

''Don't look,'' Shusui said in a whisper. Then Shuuei realized why as she saw the blush on Shusui's face. ''I saw something I shouldn't have seen.''

''Let's get away from here,'' Shuuei said and they walked far from the inn. ''What did you see?'' Shuuei asked then.

''They are there. Both naked,'' Shusui said with pink cheeks.

''Y-you saw Kouyuu naked?!''

''No!'' Shusui said with a light hit on Shuuei's shoulder. ''It's Sera's back that I saw since she is in front of him.''

Shuuei immediately understood. Those two couples were doing it there in the bath. That's why they went to the separate one. ''Why were you there?''

''I was about to go soak again and I was about to check that separate pool when I saw them there.''

Shuuei sighed. He really cannot stand being around those two when they are together since it makes him so envious. They are all lovey-dovey that he almost cannot believe that he is the same Kouyuu that hated women. Experience do change people, he thought.

Shuuei and Shusui sat beside each other watching the stars and recalling their pasts. And under the moonlight, as the wind silently blew; Shuuei kissed Shusui for the second time. She responded this time. Shuuei was about to embrace her but she pushed his chest lightly.

''Don't even think of anything funny while we are not yet married,'' Shusui said. That made Shuuei smile and Shusui blushed when she realized what she just said.

''I was just going to embrace you. I can wait until when we're married,'' Shuuei said still smiling. She said 'not yet' so it means she planned to agree to his proposal. ''You just said yes to my proposal,'' he continued with a smile.

''It's not like that,'' a flustered Shusui said. ''Even if we get married, we cannot be together. I have a duty to the Hyou clan and your duty is here in Kiyou,'' she continued in a more serious voice. That only made Shuuei smile even more. That means she have considered it and perhaps she had wanted to agree to his proposal. He gave a peck on her lips. ''What are you smiling about? I just said we cannot be together,'' Shusui reiterated.

''Yes, but the way you said it revealed something to me,'' Shuuei said and wrapped his right arm around her shoulders. ''That you wanted to be with me,'' he said and kissed her cheek. Shusui blushed. ''I can go back and forth from Kiyou to the Hyou clan. It will be all right,'' he reassured her.

''It wouldn't be that easy,'' Shusui said as she let her head rest on his chests. He wrapped her in his arms.

''I know. But I promise I will do everything I can to always return to you wherever I go. Please allow me to be with you,'' Shuuei sincerely said.

''I just told you we cannot be together,'' Shusui repeated as she snuggled closer to him as if she is feeling cold.

''We are already together,'' Shuuei said and kissed her forehead. ''If it's to be with you, I will do everything I can. I will not stop until when I am not beside my love,'' he said in a romantic voice. This is the first time that Shusui let him hug her while saying things like that. He lifted her to his lap.

''Hey, I just said don't do anything funny.'' Shusui scolded him but she did not stand up or slap him.

''I won't.'' He wrapped his arms around her again and Shusui settled her head on his chest and closed her eyes. ''You look like you are feeling cold.'' Shuuei smiled contentedly as they sat like that.

The truth is Shusui had read the stars two years ago for Shuuei and she saw that Shuuei will have what he wanted but she did not mention it to him. She understood it later when she realized that she had already fallen for him. She just did not realize it since she did not want to admit it. She had started considering him ever since he saved her from the Prison of Time. Her whole view of Shusui of what Shuuei is changed when she contemplated why Shuuei came to save her, willing to give his life for her.

''So when do you suggest are we getting married?'' Shuuei asked with a smile.

Shusui opened her eyes and read the stars. She whispered it to Shuuei and his eyes sparkled in joy. ''I love you Shusui,'' he said and kissed her again. They kissed ardently and just stayed there talking to each other until when Shusui fell asleep in his arms. He carried her to the inn and brought her to her room. Shuuei is so happy. Finally, after more than a decade of waiting for this woman, she is finally his. He promised to be only hers too.
