Chapter 55: Stuck with Couples

The moon is out and insects are making sounds everywhere. A cold wind blew as Seiran saw Jyuusan get out of the inn and followed her. ''Where do you think you're going?'' he asked with his hands folded in his chest. ''Don't go out alone wondering in the forest again. I'm sure they have set up traps again when they spotted the little animal they trapped last time come back. I won't help you this time even if you hung upside down a tree again,'' he scolded.

''I didn't say I'm going to the forest. And I'm not an animal,'' Jyuusan said with a pout. She looked so cute doing that under the moonlight and Seiran wanted to do something but stopped himself. Kiss her perhaps? Another cold gust of wind blew and she shivered.

''Let's go back inside. It's cold here. I'll make tea,'' Seiran invited when he noticed her shiver and escorted her in. He is being kind to her and Jyuusan wondered if he ate something bad. ''Why aren't you in bed yet?'' Seiran asked as he served her tea.

''I'm not yet sleepy. It's too early,'' Jyuusan said as she sipped her tea. ''This is delicious! I never thought you're good at making tea too,'' Jyuusan complimented.

Seiran smiled at that. She just praised him directly which she rarely does. ''Speaking of sleep, you rather looked like you lacked sleep that you even slept in the carriage.''

''Uh, that was because I was training last night,'' Jyuusan said with a blush when she recalled waking up with her head nestled on his shoulder and his arm protectively wrapped around her.

''You're overworking yourself. You should rest.''

''I had enough rest. I slept well despite the rocking of the carriage,'' she admitted with pink cheeks. She couldn't have slept well if not for Seiran who held her in place and warmed her.

''So now you decided to wander in the forest?'' he scolded. He recalled what he had seen when he helped her last time in the forest. The white skin. He pushed it to the back of his mind. He had been recalling that more often ever since they arrived here and it is getting harder and harder to erase from his thoughts.

''I didn't. I was about to go to the hot spring but I heard strange noises from the other side so I decided better not. I think it's the unlabeled pool.''

''Strange noises?'' Seiran asked with a raised eyebrow.

''How on earth can I bath peacefully if I keep on hearing those noises,'' Jyuusan said in an octave. ''Sera-chan and Kouyuu-sama are making erotic noises. Sera-chan was saying like 'thrust faster...ahh...' and Kouyuu-sama was like 'ohh...you're so tight' and I can almost hear the water splash! Hwuah!!!'' Jyuusan said and covered her ears like she is still hearing something.

Seiran blushed at what he heard the, he recalled white skin of Jyuusan again.

''They could have at least piped down,'' Jyuusan said in frustration and he nodded. She knew what they were doing.

''Now you know how you made us feel last time that we came here,'' Seiran said with a chuckle as he watched Jyuusan pull at her hair. Kouyuu and Sera are husband and wife so it's better if they distance themselves while those two are alone. They are having a get together since they had been away from each other for long.

''What are you talking about? We're not really doing anything that time. You guys just have perverted minds. But this time is different. I was certain of what I have heard.''

''We don't have perverted minds. It's just that the sounds you made then were really erotic and you did not even mind that we could hear you,'' Seiran countered.

''Pfft,'' Jyuusan said in defeat. She sighed. ''All people here are being lovey-dovey so I decided to go out. When I left the bath, I saw Nii-sama and Shusui-san going somewhere. And when I was about to enter Shuurei-chan's room someone else had already beat me there.''

''Ryuuki is in milady's room?'' Seiran's eyes widened. ''Don't tell me even they are . . . no that couldn't be.''

''I don't know but Shuurei-chan is moaning,'' Jyuusan said and Seiran almost spluttered his tea.

''You're kidding.''

''I'm not. Why not go and check for yourself?'' Jyuusan said and Seiran shook his head. Better not, what if they really were doing something? He did not need to hear it like how Jyuusan heard the wedded couple. Then Jyuusan remembered that there are a lot of sake in the kitchen.

''What about a drink? I think I need a drink to forget all that I heard so I could sleep,'' she said and left to get sake without waiting for Seiran's reply. They ended up having a drinking match and Jyuusan lost since she is the first who got drunk. She can defeat many men when it comes to a drinking match that's why she was confident when she challenged Seiran. She did not know that Seiran was trained to handle his alcohol well due to Shuurei's mother who never gets drunk no matter how much she drinks.

''That's enough. You're already drunk,'' Seiran stopped her as she is about to get another drink.

''But I want more,'' Jyuusan said in a sleepy voice. Her cheeks are reddish pink.

''No. That's enough,'' he said and cleared the table. He brought the sake back to the kitchen. He saw her sleeping on the chair when he returned. ''I'll bring you to your room,'' he said and lifted her.

''Seiran give me more sake,'' Jyuusan pleaded with a cute look.

Something inside Seiran churned when he saw her like that. He wanted to kiss her. 'It must be the sake,' he thought. ''No. You've had more than you can handle.'' He brought Jyuusan to her room and covered her with her blankets.

When he was about leave her room, ''Seiran,'' Jyuusan called in a sweet voice that made him pale. 'What is it this time?' he thought. And when he turned back to look at her, he regretted doing so. Jyuusan is looking up to him and she looked so cute with a blush on cheeks and her blue eyes looking hopefully at him. He really wanted to kiss her this time.
