Days Later
After your trip to the island you weren't the same. The sunlight that shone through your room didn't make you feel brighter. The calming music that played throughout your house was no longer pleasent. The smell of both your parents home and making dinner didn't warm you.
It was all cold.
And bitter.
And stupid.
Everything seemed silly. Getting out of bed, eating, going outside. Stupid stupid stupid.
Mason tried calling and texting a few times. Even he couldn't get through to you. Your parents could only beg you to leave your room and occasionally go to school. Yasmin came over everyday, but you wouldn't open the door for her.
You sat on your bed and waited. Waited for something to happen. Something that would take all the pain away. To take the loneliness and feelings of being unwanted away.
Then you got a message. The soft beep of the notification snapped you out of your thoughts. You unlocked your phone and read it.
Yasmin ♡
-Do you want to go for a walk at the Blooming Stairs? I promise it'll make you feel better. Please. I'm worried. Just for 10 minutes?
Sitting in your room was quite boring, but you couldn't take the time to move your body. It felt pointless to go anywhere. You knew that Yasmin was worried. She would knock on your door exactly thirty five times and repeated the phrase "Please please come out. Y/n let's go somewhere. It'll be fun." Then she realised that you weren't going to budge and left your house.
It was almost pitiful. You didn't want her to beg and plead, but you simply couldn't do anything.
The text message caught you off guard. It was pretty late to be going out for a walk and Yasmin was busy studying for tests and preparing for prom.
You hated seeing her like this and enough was enough. You accepted her request and went to get ready. Not caring what you looked like you threw on a hoodie and black jeans and left your house. Your parents tried to stop you and ask where you were going, but you ignored them and rushed out.
They should be happy I'm getting out of the house anyway.
As you got off the bus, you spotted Yasmin in her floral dress. She smiled largely and hugged you tight.
"I'm really happy you came!" She chimed. You stood there with a slight smile. You had to admit that you missed her company.
"Let's go!" She said as she pulled you along by your arm.
You both walked down the stairs as Yasmin pointed out all of the different flowers. She told you which flowers corresponded with zodiac signs and what they symbolized.
You stuffed your hands into the pockets of the hoodie and allowed your hair to fall into your eyes. Listening to Yasmin and walking down the stairs was calming.
Then you lightly bumped into someone. You and Yasmin stopped suddenly.
"I'm sorry..." You said lowering your head more.
"It's ok y/n." The person in front of you said.
"You two know eachother?" Yasmin said nudging your arm.You looked up and to your surprise, it was Brendan.
He was standing tall and smiling from ear to ear. He wore a black V neck shirt with matching skinny jeans. He looked at you waiting for your response.
"Yea...Yasmin this is Brendan. Brendan, this is Yasmin..." Once Yasmin heard his name her eyes widened. She put her hand up to her mouth to cover her grin.
