introductions

(Hunters POV)

After about half an hours drive we reached the werehouse. I parked the land rover next to marcus' truck that he dropped us off in, I looked in the back seat to see skyler sound asleep and I couldnt help thinking how peaceful she looked, her red hair had fallen into her face and her chest raising and falling slowly with each breath. I nudged her gently and whispered "c'mon sis wake up we're back".

She stirred slightly before her eyes flew open and she shook her head lightly to wake up. "Are the others all back?" she questioned.

"looks that way, all the cars are here" I replied peering around the parking lot of the werehouse.

We clambered out of the rover and walked up to the front door. I clicked my throat mic "marcus open up, we're back" a few moments passed before we heard the lifting of boards and undoing of locks and finally the door swung open. There in front of us stood Marcus, he had a tall muscular frame and short brown hair. The scar over his right eye was barely visible in the dimly lit hallway. I had known marcus since we were both four years old, we had just started at croyland primary school and we were placed next to each other in class. His hair was longer back then and one day we managed to glue paintings together so instead of fighting and ripping it like most four year olds would, we decided to show it together as a joint effort. And here we are 17years later and our friendship is still going strong.

Skyler, who had been dating marcus for three years, jumped into his arms and kissed his cheek playfully. when they were done marcus and I shared our usual handshake and brief hug before we ventured into the main body of the werehouse to greet the rest of the group.

(marcus POV)

I walked Hunter and Sky down the hallway and into the bright hall in the center of the werehouse. Skyler turned to me and said in her usual happy voice "oh I almost forgot Marcus, here"

She handed me the satchel she was carrying and I opened it to find five pistols and three hand grenades. I routinely checked the pistols to make sure they were safe to use. Of course being in the army this stuff came of second nature to me, but it meant that for the three years Skyler and I were dating we spent alot of time apart.

I was on my weeks leave for my birthday when this whole mess started. I had spent the week and hunters house rather than my own flat and one morning I was woken by a scream from Hunters mother. I ran downstairs to find skyler standing over a mans body that lay bleeding at her feet. She looked at me, total shock on her face "he ...bit her" she stammered looking at her mother who lay on the sofa clutching her neck. I walked over to Sarah and looked at the wound. "its bleeding pretty bad we need to get her to a hospital now!" at that moment Sarah spat blood all over the floor and looked up her eyes turning red. Hunter walked through the front door and dropped the milk he was carrying at the sight of us. "What happened?" he asked us, but before either of us could reply Sarah launched herself at me and my military training kicked in. I Grabbed her elbow and spun her to the floor. Hunter looked at his mother, then at me and I knew he'd come to the same realisation. "do it" he whispered. I took the bat from skyler who was crying, raised it in the air and before I cud bring it down on Sarahs bloody face Skyler screamed out "No! Dont!" and sprinted to out of the room. She returned moments later with the washing line from the garden "just tie her up then she cant hurt us". I looked to Hunter and he nodded. A few minuted later we had each collected a bag of supplies and we walked out the front door. Outside was chaos. People were screaming and running down the street. I Grabbed a mans arm as he ran past "Whats going on?" I questioned.

"Zombies!" he replied in a shaky tone. All three of us exchanged looks and ran to my truck. Before long we were out of the town and in the coutry side, the back of my truck loaded with bags from the local supermarket.

(Hunters POV)

As we walked into the hall, Jacob (one of marcus' army buddies) jogged over and greeted us. He had blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He smiled at us before turning to marcus "i'l take first shift with Blake" he noted and he and blake climbed the ladder outside.

Marcus went on to explain that we were takung turns to stay on the roof and keep watch for walkers near the compound. Before he could say anything about the defences he was interupted by Jennifer who ran over to us and hugged me tight. Jennifer and I had been dating for two years, she had long black hair and green eyes. She was about a foot shorter than my 6'3 and before the outbreak she spent most of her time either with me or at work.

After fleeing our house in day one her place was the first we checked. The front door had been knocked off its hinges and her younger brother was on the floor with his throat slit and there was a note on the table.

"Jen

          we hope your okay and if your reading this then go to the lake a few miles north where we took you and james when you were little, we will wait for you there.

                                    Lots of love mum and dad xxx"

And thats where we found them, they were about to leave when we showed up and with Jennifers help we convinced them to come with us.
