I bent over in exhaustion from the long run I had done to catch up to the boy but I had made it and now were back home, where we both realized Mahiru is a dummy who had left the TV on that's going to now run up our electric bill, not like we had to pay it but it made me feel bad for Uncle.

He already had to deal with two teenagers and now he's gotta pay a little extra for a TV he's not even using, I scratched the back of my arm nervously at the thought of him possibly being mad but then again when is that man ever?

Mahiru and I walked into the living room as I was about ready to give him a big lecture on turning off the TV but then we noticed a figure sitting in front of it, watching our TV, eating our food. I gave out an ear piercing screech immediately gaining the attention of the intruder, now see here's a problem, neither Mahiru or I can get rid of an intruder especially since this guy looks way taller than us and older as well.

Out of nowhere my sort of brother had grabbed a mop and went to hit the man sitting on the ground but he all of a sudden dodged and flew over Mahiru's head to stand beside me, my butt immediately made contact with the floor as I tried to slide myself away frantically in fear for what this man had in store after such a move.

"Wow you're a pretty violent kid, huh? Well you got me spooked." I began to pull some pillows off the couch and threw them at the being, really having no affect on him but it at least would keep him away from me if he tried anything, actually that's a horrible plan.

Mahiru went to swipe at him again but then began to stumble and accidentally opened the curtain as he tried to clutch on to it for balance, I shielded my eyes from the bright light but had noticed the man before me was now Kuro? No way, this can't be.

I felt tears prick at my eyes as I began to realize after Mahiru opening and closing the curtain many times that this was indeed the cat I had picked up yesterday, who I was looking forward to playing with and cuddling but now that was all shattered. Why couldn't I have just gotten an actual cat?

"I'm not supposed to be in the sunlight so keep those shut, okay? Look you're even scaring your girlfriend." I screamed again as I threw even more pillows at the apparent Kuro, the cat I had picked up yesterday off the street who is apparently this boy.

"I'm not his girlfriend and you're the one scaring me!" immediately I stood up and put myself in the kitchen not wanting to be anywhere near this weird dude who is apparently my cat and who apparently decided it is very appropriate for us to meet by seeing him watching our TV and eating our food while we were gone.

"So what are you?" I asked very stern, almost like a mother yelling at their child for doing so bad but that's kind of how I felt right now since pets are considered your children. Mahiru was shocked that I did not at all seemed to be as fazed by this like him making me curious about that too, I need to tune this down a bit.

"Just a kind hearted shut in.." he tried to speak all sad like probably hoping that acting like this could allow him to stay, as I thought about that an image flashed through my mind of him as a cute little kitten, I can't just get rid of him like that!

"..One who happens to be a vampire." it felt as though my jaw had immediately collided with the counter, that can't be possible. No, it's him.

"Are you that street slasher?!" Mahiru shouted in complete and utter fear as it felt tears had begun to roll down my cheeks again, no I can't.

I shook my head and exited our little living space and sat outside in the hallway and waited for Mahiru to deal with this situation so we could leave and go have a fun time with our friends, this was too much stress for me to bare. He's not the street slasher, he's just a cat, right?

After a few minutes the door had opened making me suspect that stupid vampire, whatever he is, situation was dealt with but then I noticed Kuro, still our cat by the way, was now placed out in the hallway beside me.

It seemed he was counting before I noticed a blue ring glowing around his neck and was attached to something through the door when instantly my assumptions were proven correct, the door had opened to reveal he was connected to Mahiru.

What's this blue thing connecting the two?

"What a pain, I would've much rather have the girl at least she seems intelligent." the black cat spoke out in a monotone voice to the boy, all I could do was laugh as he had just called me smarter than Mahiru, this made me forget about the whole glowing attachment thing that just happened between the two. Mahiru could only just glare at me for laughing at such a comment from this weird vampire guy.

The black cat sighed as he began to explain something I didn't understand "until the contract is over we have to stay together, those are the rules, I can't believe I'm stuck with you all day." he spoke in a snarky voice, the brown haired boy could only roll his eyes as he dragged the cat in by the glowing attachment between the two as he motioned me to come back in with a simple move of his head.

I was sat on the couch watching Mahiru vacuum all the crumbs across our little poor black kitty, I was laughing my butt off until Kuro asked a horrible question on what both our parents might say seeing us abuse such an adorable little pet and then asking where they were.

Mahiru explained the story of his life that brought him here today, I've heard it so many times I could probably explain every little detail to you, he also added in that we weren't related making Kuro ask where my parents were then.

"They killed themselves when I was really young, nobody knew I existed so I lived alone for awhile until Mahiru and his Uncle found me searching in the trash for some food and ever since then I've lived with the two. If it wasn't for them I'd be dead." Mahiru sighed noticing that I still had no emotion as I explained the story, it's been told so many times I have no more tears to shed over it and this for some reason upset him although he's the same whenever he explains the story of his life.

"Oh I see that's why you felt bad for a little stray like me, idiot-"

"Hey I was the one who actually picked you up!" I yelled as I threw another pillow at the little cat in frustration, all he could do was glare at me and make a comment about how throwing pillows was the only thing I ever did, or something along those lines.

Then we both noticed the time as Mahiru immediately scooped up the little ball of whatever this thing is now as we both bolted out the door, what fun we joined in.
