I heard music from somewhere. I continued to walk to the rooms. With each step i took, I could hear the music louder. I need a one dance, got a Hennessy in my hand ... I suppose that the roommate, whose musical choice leads me to think the girl-mate has already come. I stood between the two doors-right 1,left 2. The music was definitely from the room number one. I was expecting to see a 18 years old girl student, in playful, dancing mood, who from today will be my roommate. However, I had to open the door and greet, because a life together is in front of us and I promised myself that I will knock down the hate towards people because it is the only key to a good time spent here. New Life Sophia, and a new way of life. I would not greet immediately, I would give some time to myself, alone , but I felt that the music of the roommate was secretly screaming "I'm here, I arrived. Come and greet with me!" It's OK Sophia, you madman. I pulled down the doorknob.
Oh, God.

Not very large room, but sufficient size for a 18 year old student with primitive needs. White, freshly painted walls, poorly but still spreading the smell of fresh paint throughout the room. Few wooden shelves on the wall just above the desk with two drawers and lamp, just right of the entrance to the room. The left side was filled with a bed and wardrobe. The wealth "daylight" was coming from the large window between the desk and the bed.

A boy. In a second,I wanted to scream. No, no, no! I have not had male friends. Never in my life. I'm sure it comes from my childhood, I grew up without a father. We lived separately 10 or 11 years, and even then they divorced with my mother. We saw each other every weekend, spending the days at his house me, my sister and even my mother. But at the weekends,i didn't hear any other talk or communication between everyone, than argues and fights. However, we were not even close. When I was younger I loved him. As more I was growing up, there was more distance between us. I never had a male presence in my life. Father, male friends, boyfriend. I'm unable to speak, to associate, to spend time with them, to relax with them. Of course, there were those boy friends who "respected me a lot" because as much as that "respect" ,they needed my help with school stuff. I was among the better students, why otherwise I would not have friends? That's what's strange. I always thought that if you're smart and if you stand out with success, you will get more attention and friends. In reality, as always, it's the opposite of what we think.
The roommate was already in the room, unpacking. Short boy with a nice face. Hair colored in a hazelnut-color. Red T-shirt, jeans and sneakers. As soon as I entered the room, he noticed me because he was putting some things on the desk.
"Oh,um,hi. I'm Alex." He said, with the usual smile you have when you're getting to know someone. Simultaneously we extended a hand to shake.
"Hello," I say back. "I'm Sophia, I'm glad."
"Are you from Spain?"
"Oh, no, no. I come from France. And you?"
"Russia." He said, pulling a small flag from his bag and placing it on the desk. "Just try to resist your family before you go somewhere abroad. " He said with a smile in which I responded. I understood what he wanted to say, the flag was not his desire that is very normal for a man who has sense.
The conversation went enjoyable, even very successfully for me that never, from kindergarten to the end of high school, never was good and successful in introducing other people, especially men. We talked for a while, general topics of conversation between we-just-met people Probably we both thought we should immediately learn more about each other because literally, we are going to live together four years. He told me that he is studying Biology. After some time spent talking, I left the room for him to continue with his, and me to start my unpacking and placement in the new home.I hope you like the story, please don't quit reading,i've planned a good story. Thank you for reading, you can leave a comment/tip/advice or a vote. Kissess <3 xx
