It was early on a Sunday morning and there was a knock at the door. As I go to open it I seen flashing lights and hear police sirens. I didn't know what to do so I walked away and block it all out. I hear my mum coming down the stairs, I quickly panic, I jump on the couch and pretend to be sleeping. I can't help but smile, I think she knows I'm awake. I open one eye to see her standing there glaring at me with a cheeky smile like she knows what I was doing. "Good morning" she said, "What's going on out there and why did you not answer the door" I pretend I hade no idea what was happening out side...so I come up with a crazy excuse, thinking she would not believe me."Well, they are practising drills...And they told me not to actually answer the door because it might put them off". "Ohh that makes sense, but why would they do it this early in the morning, it is still dark out side and the time is 5:58 am". "I am not sure mum anyway do you have work today?" "Yeah, I do, sorry sweetheart but I leave in about 10 minutes and will not be home till late tonight", "Well can James come over please mum, we have been getting really close lately and he is so sweat" " Yeah ok, but no leaving the house... Only if use want to get something from the shop or go to his house, and I mean it!" "Yes mum" *lily sighs and walk to Bedroom* •Ring ring ring• "I will get it mum" " Hello this is lily speaking, who is this" " ohh hi lily this is James mum Chantelle I work with your mum.. Could I please speak to her it's about work" " Yeah that's fine, MUM CHANTELLE IS ON THE PHONE FOR YOU!" " Okay okay no need to yell" laughs Katie, Lily's mum. *Hands Katie the phone* " Hey Chantelle what seems to be the problem?" " Hi, sorry but i have just been informed that we have to go away for an investigation for a few weeks", "umm oh okay that's a little last minute would James like to spend a few night at my place with lily whilst we are gone?", "Yeah that would be good I will drop him of and pick you up in 10 minutes.......".
