Here we have two 24 year old adult best friends playing video games on their break time at work. Mordecai and Rigby were competing each other to see who would win, as always Rigby would always lose. Same old routine, Mordecai brags about it while the other male would whine and complain from losing.
"Hey dude, whoever wins has to pay lunch!" Mordecai said while Rigby nodded his head and smirked right away. "Hm hm, deal!" In with that, the smaller male picked up his controller and started to press the buttons hard and quick. In the other side, Mordecai was simply being calm about this knowing that he had no rush because he knew he was going to win this. He chuckled, smiling from ear to ear, then dropped the controller to cover his own mouth half way and have the other hand up in the air. "Ooohhhh!!! Guess who has to pay for lunch??? Hahaha, not me that's what!" He laughs making Rigby growl and pout. "Ugh!! Stop talking!!!" He yells, as he stood up and crosses his arms while looking up at him showing a frown. The blue jay human couldn't help but continue smirking and even thought that Rigby's frowning was cute, those facial features, that adorable anger he carries on, I mean what? Mordecai shook those thoughts away then soon both of them head out to go to the coffee shop.
When they got there, the smaller male pulled out his money and ordered whatever he wanted and waited for Mordecai to get the same thing as usual. While Margaret took the cash from Rigby's hand, she smiled putting it inside her front pocket shirt then soon glanced down at Mordecai. "Hey Mordecai, I was wondering if you would like to come and watch this movie with me! Eileen and I bought four tickets, so we thought maybe you and Rigby would love to come." Standing there, she waited for the blue haired male to speak. Mordecai was so lost in thought for a minute there. He still had feelings for her like big time and thought that she was the one for him. Like a love day dream sort of thing? Anyways, he slightly blushed and nodded rapidly while laughing nervously. "Sure! That would be great! What time do you want us to come? And what day?" He asked feeling his heart race. Mordecai wished that it would just be him and her alone at the movies, so in that way he could finally make his move without the other two budging in of course. Rigby on the other hand stared at the two of them quietly, not really listening to Eileen's crazy science stories right now. He irked at some type of feeling inside of his chest just by watching the two talk and seeing they were having a good time by their conversation and laughter. 'Tch...' This feeling he seemed to feel always happened to him whenever he saw Mordecai with Margaret. He really couldn't understand why though, Rigby thought it was probably because he only liked Mordecai having more of a great time with him and not her. What he does not know is that his jealousy would show by the face. A small frown and a hint of anger out of nowhere showing at the facial features of his face. It's a good thing no one really notices about it though. Am I right?
"If you took all of the veins in your body and laid them end to end, you would die. Weird right?" Eileen said trying to get Rigby's attention. Snapping back into reality, he rolled his eyes irritated, and nodded his head while waving his hand. "Yeah yeah...." He sighed then soon enough Mordecai and Rigby were finally eating and drinking coffee while the girls were going back to work having to do people's orders and get their food.
"Dude, I think Margaret actually likes me!" Mordecai said turning his head and looking down at his smaller friend. Rigby smiled nervously and even laughed it off. "Are you sure? What makes you think that? Every time we come here, it's the same jizz. Then nothing happens between the two of you. Just stuck in the friend zone hmm hmm!" Rigby crossed his arms and smirked at his best friend. Secretly, he hated the fact that one day Margaret might end up liking him and then one day, they will end up together. It would crush him to the end if it ever came true. Luckily, it's not going to happen. It's what Rigby had in thought all along. He knew it wouldn't happen because one, his friend wasn't good in hitting on her, and two, Mordecai has no chance in asking her out either. Either way, it was a win win for Rigby.
"Well she was smiling at me then umm...invited me to see a movie with her! She's so into me." He said smirking in confidence and crossing his arms while the other shakes his head and snickers. "Don't you remember? Eileen and I are going as well anyways, so it's really nothing. We do this all the time with them after all." That made Rigby relieved, he didn't like hanging out with Eileen but he had to, just for his sake of his best friend and also because he wanted to see what was going on between Mordo and Margaret. He wasn't going to allow her to take him away at all. The thought of it made him feel hurt, feeling that it would ruin him forever. Was it because he wanted him for himself? Naaaah! Rigby had so many questions and yet, he doesn't know what he's feeling about all of this either. 'It's like, I don't want to let him go.....I don't know why....could it be that I...you know.....like him in that way....? Nah, I'm not gay! Plus he's just my best friend! Maybe I'm just being overprotective or protecting him? Yeah....that's it!" Arguing in his mind, he forgot that Mordecai was still there. He was even trying to get him to wake up from his thinking. "Dude!! Didn't you just hear what I was saying?!?!" Rigby quickly looked up at him and made a 'psh' noise coming from his mouth. Mordecai slightly rolled his eyes then lightly punched his shoulder. "Anyways, tonight when we go over at the movies, I shall prove to you that I'm going to ask Margaret out hmm hmm, just you wait." Rigby bit his lower lip but was trying to calm himself down from feeling nervous. Thinking, Rigby was already having the thought that Mordecai wasn't going to do it. He always chickened out whenever he attempted to ask her out, either way it made him feel a bit more relieved about it. "Sureeee." Is all he said then stood up walking out of the coffee shop with Mordecai, going back to the park.
