The flame of dawn spread through the horizon, as the beginning of a new day. The morning chill tickled her, whispering for her to come and be a witness to the great awakening of the day. Red and gold cloak drapped around her shoulders, Queen Lucy stepped to the balcony.
She hummed a haunting lullaby she learned from dear Mr. Tumnus, a heavy anxious feeling enveloping her heart.
"Something's wrong," she whispered to the wind, waking up the sleeping dryads.
"Your Majesty," Lucy turned her head slightly to see the cherry tree dryad. "What appears to be troubling you so?"
"It's nothing to worry about," the valiant queen answered with a smile. She turned and watched the sea again, reminded of the last time she saw the son of the Emperor-Beyond-The-Sea.
"I just have this bad feeling."
"A bad feeling, Your Majesty?"
Lucy nodded absently. "It felt like something big is about to happen," she rubbed her arms to rid of cold air. "I hope everything will be okay."
The dryad smiled gently. "It will be alright, Your Majesty."
The youngest ruler looked back at the dryad in confusion.
"For Aslan will always be watching over us," said the dryad in full faith.
"Of course," replied Lucy with a big smile. "I should have remembered."
"It is normal to forget something, Your Majesty," assured the dryad.
Lucy nodded with a bright smile. She turned back to the sea, where the shining sun had started to rise. It was peaceful, beautiful, a sight she would always treasure.
Slowly, she started to forget the anxiety, even if a small whisper kept playing in the back of her mind. Kidnapped by the scenery, Lucy never realized when the dryad left her.
"My Queen, there you are."
Lucy turned to the source of the familiar low voice of her dear friend, Mr. Tumnus. The faun had that same bright red scarf he had when they first met and the bright smile he wore since her coronation.
"Good morning to you, Mr. Tumnus," ever the polite girl, Lucy greeted the faun with a smile.
"Good morning to you too, my dear friend," replied the faun. "Come, breakfast is ready and your siblings has started to wonder where you are."
Lucy smiled at the offered hand.
"I'm coming!"
